With the modern music scene in mind, the Yamaha BB bass has been boldly revamped under the concept of "the ultimate bolt-on passive." This is the BB734, which faithfully inherits the basic specifications of the top-of-the-line BBP model, and furthermore, adopts an active specification for the first time in a long time for the BB model, which is predominantly passive.

This bass inherits the wood materials and laminate construction of the higher-end BB models, featuring a three-layer laminate body of alder/maple/alder, a five-piece laminate neck combining maple and mahogany for a slim grip shape, and a rosewood fingerboard. The body, neck, and headstock are finished in matte black, and the various parts are finished in black nickel. It features high-grade Alnico 5 magnet PJ pickups and a black 3-ply pickguard. The pickup covers use a general-purpose design and can be customized to your liking. The control section of this active bass features volume, pickup balancer, and 3-band EQ, and a switch allows you to switch between active and passive modes, enabling you to choose the sound that suits the situation. In addition, a battery alert LED is installed on the back so you can see when it's time to change the battery.

This model features a 6-bolt miter joint, adopted from higher-end models, which creates a stronger bond by driving the bolts at a 45-degree angle toward the neck, resulting in a powerful resonance where the neck and body are one unit. It also incorporates a miter stringing bridge, which reduces string stress while effectively transmitting string vibrations to the body by passing the strings through the back of the body at a 45-degree angle from the bridge saddle. This model inherits the resonance and design structure of the instrument.

While there are some minor scratches and tarnishing on the parts, there are no significant external damages such as dents, and the guitar remains in beautiful condition for its age.
