Description
Description
function:
At its minimum depth setting, Starla can be used as a signal booster. Increasing the depth control increases the tremolo effect on the signal. Sounds range from a light shimmer, through a mild, transparent, traditional tone, to a deep swing or "machine gun" sound. The wide depth range allows this tremolo to shred any signal coming into or out of it. It's extremely useful in front of high-gain amplifiers or pedals, as it can completely silence the sound.
There are three ways to set the speed of the Speed Tremolo effect: using the Speed knob, the Tap Tempo footswitch, or a control voltage/remote tap switch via the Sync port. The speed is affected by the position of the Multiplier (1/3/2) toggle switch. Setting the Multiplier switch to a higher rate also changes the sweep of the Speed knob.
waveform
Starla uses eight different waveforms, including a random waveform. Each waveform can be combined with a duty trim potentiometer to create a variety of waveforms. The duty trimmer pot changes the duty cycle of all waveforms except random.
The Volume control was added for two reasons: first, to prevent a noticeable drop in volume when the effect is engaged, which is a problem with most tremolos, and second, to allow the Starla to be used as a good volume booster without adding distortion to the signal when the Depth control is at its minimum setting.
