Description

The legendary "Snokler," the origin of Bogner amplifiers, is back!

The ultimate JCM800 modification by Reinhold Bogner, the genius amp builder who captivated many top professional guitarists in the early '90s, has now been revived for the modern era. This amazing amp will allow you to enjoy the ultimate overdrive that will stir the soul of any rock guitarist.

[History of SNORKLER]
Bogner Amplification is synonymous with boutique amps that demonstrate their potential and presence regardless of the music genre or style you play.
Born in Germany, Reinhold Bogner discovered rock music in his early teens and bought a guitar, but didn't have the money to buy a guitar amplifier. So he began building his own amplifiers using parts owned by his father, a sound engineer and tube radio collector at the time, and he acquired the skills and know-how along the way.
The beginning of his illustrious career began when his first client, Rich Williams (Kansas), liked the sound of a Plexi amp that Reinhold Bogner had modified while on tour in Germany and asked him to modify his own backup Plexi amp.
Reinhold Bogner began to receive a flood of job offers from artists who had heard rumors about him and were visiting Germany on tour. At the same time, he received encouragement from those around him and decided to move to Los Angeles in 1989 at the young age of 22. He brought with him a white 50W Marshall JCM 800 "Visitenkarte," a guitar he had modified himself and which would later become the prototype for the SNORKLER 50, as his business card.
After moving to LA, Reinhold Bogner knocked on the door of Andy Brauer Studio Rentals, an equipment rental company that was frequented by many of LA's top musicians. At the recommendation of the owner, Andy Brauer, he had the opportunity to have one of his clients, Eddie Van Halen, try out a Marshall amp that he had modified himself. Eddie Van Halen liked the sound so much that he purchased the amp and the guitar he had modified for $500.
He continued to receive requests for amp modifications from many musicians, and using the knowledge he gained from that experience, he created the "SNORKLER," featuring his own Blue pre-amp circuit board. The original SNORKLER was also used on Alice in Chains' classic album "Facelift."

[Equipped with footswitchable GAIN 1/2, NOISE-GATE, and RETURN LEVEL MV functions]
Now, after much dedication, the SNORKLER 50 Head delivers 50W of power with two EL34 tubes. Despite its simple control knob configuration, GAIN 1 (BLUE MODE) delivers an organic, punchy clean/crunch sound, while GAIN 2 (RED MODE) adds additional gain. By adjusting the GAIN 1 and 2 knobs, the BRIGHT switch (only active when GAIN 2 is active), the power amp section's DEPTH and PRESENCE controls, and the DEEP switch, which boosts the low frequencies, you can create a juicy, aggressive, and exquisite high-gain sound.
Additionally, the rear control panel is equipped with a "NOISE-GATE" and "RETURN LEVEL MV" that can be turned on/off with the switch on the main unit. [※1]
The NOISE-GATE function increases the threshold when the knob is turned clockwise, eliminating noise from high-gain sounds. The RETURN LEVEL MV is active only when the effects loop is turned on, making it a convenient function that can also be used as a global master volume.

[※1] When using the foot switch terminal of this unit, the effects loop and noise gate will always be active.
