Description
Description
This particular guitar is a 1989 model. The white Les Paul Custom first appeared around 1974. It remains a highly sought-after specification today, thanks to its use by legendary guitarists.
【body】
The total weight is approximately 4.2 kg. The body is made of maple top and mahogany back. The Alpine White topcoat has aged nicely, resulting in a lovely creamy finish. There are some weather checking, occasional small dents and scratches, and some peeling and tarnishing of the gold hardware, but considering its age, it is in remarkably good condition.
【neck】
The neck is a single piece of mahogany without a volute. The fingerboard is made of rare ebony. Although there is some paint chipping on the side of the neck and some tarnishing on the metal parts, it is in very good condition, similar to the body. The tuners function well with little variation in winding. The frets and nut show only slight wear, and playability is good. The nut width is 43.4mm. It has a relatively clean neck shape compared to other Les Paul models.
[Electrical System]
The controls are the familiar Les Paul model setup: a 3-way pickup selector, two volume controls, and two tone controls. The pickups are two "The Original" humbuckers, characterized by their distinctive circuit board wiring on the back. The bridge pickup has a higher output than the neck pickup, making it a modern setup. Although there has been some solder retouching, the control components, including the pickups, are in excellent condition, just as they were back then.
While possessing a powerful feel, it also boasts a well-defined attack thanks to the materials characteristic of a Les Paul Custom (ebony fingerboard/maple top/mahogany back). The neck position delivers a thick, creamy lead tone, while the bridge position outputs a powerful drive sound. Its main appeal is undoubtedly its extended sustain and the rich, pleasing distortion sound.
