Description
Description
Since the first electric guitar under the Guild brand was born in the early 1950s, the company has continued to produce numerous acoustic and electric guitars, and continues to be loved by guitarists and artists around the world.
The Aristocrat M-75 electric guitar, a 14-inch wide, 24-3/4-inch scale model with a hollow body and no sound hole, was released in 1954. In 1967, it was renamed the Blues Bird M-75 and was produced with minor changes until 1972.
This latest arrival is a late 1960s model shipped around 1970. Equipped with a Bigsby tremolo unit, it offers excellent sound and playability.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.0 kg. The body is made of hollow maple. The black finish and binding on the top and back of the body give it a sleek look. The standard wooden bridge and G tailpiece have been replaced with a Bigsby B-7 tremolo unit (although the original parts remain). While there is weather checking appropriate for the guitar's age, areas of peeling paint, dents, and other scratches, the gold plating on the pickup covers has peeled, and the metal parts have rusted and become dull, giving it a wonderful vintage guitar feel.
【neck】
The neck is a three-piece mahogany/maple buffer/mahogany construction. The fingerboard is exquisite rosewood. The headstock veneer boasts the familiar Chesterfield inlay. There's some paint chipping on the back of the neck due to use, paint chipping around the headstock, aging on the headstock veneer, lifting of the neck heel tip due to age, and tarnish on the metal parts, all of which give the instrument a wonderful vintage feel, just like the body. The tuners function well with little variation in winding. The frets and nut have been replaced, and playability is excellent. The nut width is 42.6mm. The neck has a clean, moderately thick profile.
[Electrical system]
The controls are standard: a 3-way pickup selector, two volumes, and two tones. The pickups are two Guild small humbuckers. The pots are from the late '60s, and the tone capacitors are old but may have been replaced. Even when played live, the guitar delivers a powerful, rich harmonic range. Plugged-in, the hollow body's airiness and quick attack are apparent, complemented by the firm low end and lustrous midrange characteristic of small humbuckers. Clean tones deliver impressively defined chord work and a sweet, sustained tone. Driven, the guitar delivers rich, sustained, and supple lead sounds that take advantage of the cabinet's resonance.
