Description

High quality second hand recommended item!
We've got a high-quality pre-owned Murphy Lab 1959 ES-335 Reissue Ultra Light Aged guitar, crafted in 2022 and featuring realistic aging by Murphy Lab. The dot position and '59-style firm neck grip produce a rich, full-bodied tone and resonance that's hard to resist. The subdued Vintage Sunburst color makes this a sophisticated guitar for the discerning adult!

The Gibson "ES" series, synonymous with Gibson electric guitars and captivating countless guitar enthusiasts worldwide, boasts undeniable originality! We've just received a highly recommended pre-owned 1961 ES-335 Reissue, featuring realistic aging by Murphy Lab. The ES-335 combines a bluesy yet sophisticated vibe with a sophisticated feel, making it a versatile guitar that handles clean crunch and even high-gain distortion with ease!

Murphy Lab, a new lab located within the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, specializes in guitar aging (a process that recreates the aging look and feel of vintage guitars) using the latest scientifically-based technology.

Tom Murphy, a founding member of the Gibson Custom Shop and project leader of the Historic Collection, has since become known for his aging technique, which brings a vintage look and feel to new guitars. Tom's passion for vintage guitars and deep knowledge of them allow him to perfectly replicate the natural lacquer cracks and wear that come with playing a Gibson guitar.

Tom Murphy and Gibson scientifically analyzed the nitrocellulose lacquers of the 1950s and 1960s, which develop cracks known as weatherchecking over time. They uncovered the process and, through extensive testing on prototypes of various models, developed a lacquer process that reproduces the natural weatherchecking of vintage guitars.

The idea for Murphy Lab was born when Tom Murphy and his team at the Gibson Custom Shop began testing prototypes to explore different body shapes, finishes and aging levels. As a result, Murphy Lab was established within the Gibson Custom Shop to pursue unprecedented realism and attention to detail in aging.

Tom Murphy and his artistic creations have played an important role in Gibson's history and will continue to live on forever as Murphy Lab.

This is a 1959 ES-335 reissue with "Ultra Light Aged" finish, the least severe aging condition on a four-level aging scale. This is a high-quality pre-owned item manufactured in 2022. It's the second year of the Murphy Lab series, which launched in 2021.
The 1959 ES-335 Reissue features a tight sound thanks to the small hollowing that is characteristic of this era, a center block with a drilled wiring hole for the rear pickup, and a firm '59-style neck grip, resulting in a versatile tone that is thick and full, yet tight and well-defined.

The Ultra Light Aged model features minimal weathering and dents, giving it the natural appearance of aging, as if it had been carefully stored in a case for many years. The fingerboard edges are rolled for excellent grip, a finish that players will appreciate.

The basic specs are the latest Historic Spec, with unpotted Custombucker Alnico III pickups, updated assemblies, and True Historic parts still included.
Not only does it have a great sound projection when the tone is turned down, but the controllable assembly also maintains a moderate brightness even when the volume is turned down, making it a great match for modern use!

The latest Gibson Custom Shop guitars have arrived, continuing to evolve by returning to their roots. Enjoy the incredible tone you can only get from a Custom Shop guitar, along with the powerful aging process achieved by Murphy Lab!

We have a recommended high-quality used item in stock. It was manufactured in 2022.
This guitar has been treated with Ultra Light Aging, so scratches, dents, cracks, and paint peeling may be visible, but it is in excellent condition and is a highly recommended item! We have maintained and cleaned it in our shop, so it is ready to use right away!
The paint chip on the bottom of the body back is believed to have been chipped later, but it does not affect playability.
There are also some scratches on the pickguard, but this does not affect playability.

The frets are in good condition and most of them remain. The nut is also in good condition and can be used without any problems. The truss rod can be adjusted normally.

We have also checked the electrical system and there are no problems with operation.

It weighs approximately 3.44 kg, a balance that makes it easy to use yet produces a solid sound.
The calm Vintage Sunburst color makes this a sophisticated piece for adults!

Accessories include the original hard case, key, certificate, serial number tag, and Japanese Owner's Manual.
