Description
Description
"BLACK SMOKER" is a handmade brand from BLACK CLOUD, a workshop in Nagano Prefecture, a mecca for musical instrument manufacturing with many brands. This brand has been talked about among many professional musicians for its high-quality sound, playability, and looks. It is a noteworthy handmade brand created by two people: CEO Kuroiwa, who has been involved in the design and manufacturing of numerous manufacturers and models, and young builder Yanagisawa, who co-creates the brand.
This traditional 5-string OPB-style bass features an ash body, maple neck, and fingerboard, and is equipped with a custom pickup. Like the 5-string JB-style model that quickly made this brand a household name, this bass features a 48mm nut width, a gently curved 305-radius fingerboard, a moderately thick fingerboard, and a comfortable C-shaped grip for a comfortable hold. Experience the dynamics and linear response of a passive bass, while also enjoying a smooth playing feel. The custom pickups also output a thick, fat tone with a moderate amount of openness and wildness, producing a powerful sound image and clear intonation.
Our brand's basses offer the rich overtones and supple, open resonance that are the true joy of a simple passive bass, and you'll experience a bouncy sound that's easy on the ears and smooth projection the moment you pick one up. While based on the familiar sound of traditional materials, this approach to playability, along with the clear response and crisp intonation in the sound, gives the feeling that the bass has been refined with the player in mind, and this is why our brand's basses have earned such enthusiastic support from professional bassists.
Featuring an early '50s OPB style with no body contours, this 5-string bass is based on a model beloved by many. It retains the open tone characteristic of a 4-string bass, with the low B string seemingly existing as an extension of that sound. The balanced tone from the G string to the B string, the secret to the brand's popularity, is also faithfully preserved. There's actually a great demand for 5-string basses, with a tone and texture that allows players to immerse themselves in playing without feeling out of place on a 4-string bass, making them a hot topic among professional musicians and band bassists alike. This instrument, too, is designed to allow you to fully experience the brand's strengths.
