A custom model with an alder body and pau ferro fingerboard is now available!
Since its founding in 1982, MAYONES has gained popularity in Europe and the US for its unique lineup and reliable quality. With technically skilled players like Janek Gwizdala, Hadrien Feraud, and Etienne Mbappé on its user list, the brand is also garnering a lot of attention in Japan.
This instrument is a 1960s-style custom model with an alder body and perfluoro fingerboard, deliberately omitting the top material to take advantage of the simple charm of the white color.
The combination of a stable sound thanks to its moderate weight of approximately 4.65 kg, the response provided by the one-piece bolt-on neck, and the clear, crisp tone provided by the split-coil pickups makes this a high-quality 5-string JB with a strong Mayones signature.
The 34.25-inch scale is slightly longer than the standard JB-style model, giving it a tight low B response while also providing a deep response when played properly. The natural sound character of the "Musashi Nitoryu" preamp, inspired by the two-sword style of the master swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, is also appealing. It's also great that it has 24 frets despite being a JB style guitar!
The latest preamp can be powered by either the built-in rechargeable battery or a 9V battery, and the built-in AUX and headphone jacks allow you to enjoy playing in a variety of situations. A convenient idea that is in keeping with the dual-wielding concept.
The fact that the look isn't too flashy is probably something players will appreciate.
