Description
Description
Designed to fit on a pedal board and run on a standard 9V power supply, it puts studio-quality compression right at your feet.
This is a long-awaited product that delivers the "API sound" created by the API custom transformer output and 2510 op amp in a compact size.
You can get good "api sound" with electric guitars, electric basses, and other line instruments.
The WET/DRY BLEND control and two compressor styles (TYPES), "Feedback (OLD)" and "Feedforward (NEW)," allow for a variety of tones.
The ATTACK and RELEASE can also be switched between two levels (FAST/SLOW), allowing for a wide range of sound creation, from suppressing signals with strong attack to creating long sustain.
It features very natural and musical compression.
At the same time, it is also capable of bold compression, so it prevents unnatural compression when left on, or when cutting or slapping.
API2510 Op-Amp API's proprietary output transformer Two-stage switch for attack and release time adjustment Wet/Dry Blend control Feedback (OLD)/Feedforward (NEW) selectable compressor-style buffered bypass
■What is the "2510 Op Amp"? You may think of the 2520 as the API, but the 2510 is also used in a large number of products.
The 2510 is widely used in the EQ/dynamics sections of API's huge flagship console, Vision.
It is also used in many other products' input paths, and is an essential part of creating API sound.
It is precisely because we generously use the same parts as products costing tens of millions of yen that the "unique API sound" is preserved even in compact effects.
■Large output transformer Despite being the size of a pedal, it is equipped with a large output transformer.
■18V operation This unit can also be operated at 18V. At 18V, the dynamic range becomes wider and the compression effect changes significantly.
Another feature is that the relationship between INPUT and SUSTAIN changes, and at 9V it can be operated in a similar way to a compact effect pedal.
At 18V, the SUSTAIN is pre-set to the "-" (minus) side, and the INPUT is added little by little to balance the volume and compression, providing operation similar to that of a rack-mounted device.
