Through numerous minor changes, the Custom 24 has reigned as a central model in the PRS lineup since the company's founding in 1985. Its perfected sound and playability have made it a favorite among various artists, and it has become synonymous with PRS.

Following the specifications from around 2020, the top coat after body coloring is applied with gloss lacquer, resulting in a different texture and acoustic resonance compared to earlier models. This high-quality used unit that we have in stock was manufactured in 2023.

The body features a flame maple top with an impressive wood grain, and a classic mahogany back. This combination, which has been used for solid electric guitars for over 60 years, produces a rich midrange and a punchy attack thanks to the approximately 20mm thick maple, resulting in a tone perfect for rock guitar.

The neck, like the back, is made of mahogany, and the rosewood fingerboard laminated to it features PRS's iconic bird inlays. The neck shape is Pattern Thin. It uses PRS's original medium jumbo frets. With its shallow fingerboard radius, mid-jumbo frets, and smooth curved neck shape, this neck material offers excellent playability.

The bridge features the Gen3 Tremolo, which was adopted for regular models starting with the 2017 model year. The PRS Tremolo has always been well-regarded for its ability to maintain tuning stability when using the tremolo arm, but the Gen3 Tremolo has grooves cut into the bridge plate where the saddle set screws are installed, and the six saddles are fitted very tightly, preventing them from shifting sideways and minimizing tuning instability.
Furthermore, by increasing the diameter of the bridge mounting screws and leaving the saddle height adjustment screws, saddle mounting screws, and the string contact area of ​​the saddle unplated, we have contributed to richer harmonics and sustain.

The pickups are the 85/15 model, which was installed in the 30th Anniversary model produced in 2015.
While the name might suggest it follows the same line as pickups aiming for vintage tones like the 57/08 and 59/09, it was actually developed with a modern classic character in mind. It's a very user-friendly pickup that combines a wide range from high to low end with a punchy, moderately powerful sound.
Furthermore, the pickup bobbin is made in a style that has been continuously produced since 2012, with a bobbin shape that extends almost to the inside edge of the escutcheon. This reduces the gap between the escutcheon and the pickup, making feedback less likely at high volumes, and also prevents coil breakage due to picking. While feedback is already infrequent and coil breakage due to picking is extremely rare, this is a PRS-like specification that thoroughly pursues stress-free practicality.
Unlike the vintage-style sounds of recent years, the sound, reminiscent of HFS and #6 pickups, produces a rocking tone that makes you think, "This is the new Custom sound!"
The controls feature a 5-way sound output using a blade switch. In the mix position, it outputs a sound that mixes single-coil and humbucker sounds, allowing for instant switching between the two.
Of course, the low-gain sound when the volume is turned down thanks to the high-pass capacitor is still present, and the clean tone allows for versatile sound control that is suitable for fingerstyle playing and jazz/fusion using the tone control.

There are some minor scratches, but overall it is in beautiful condition with minimal signs of use. There are no issues or problems with its operation or playability.
This item has undergone full maintenance and cleaning at our shop, so it is ready to use immediately.

The frets are in good working order and have almost all of their life remaining. The nut is also in good working order and the truss rod can be adjusted normally.
