Description
Description
This special edition features a "bird's-eye poplar" top, with wood selected and ordered by Ikebe staff at their German factory!
Based on the long-standing relationship of trust between Warwick and Ikebe, this special edition model was realized as a special project to commemorate their 50th anniversary. It is the first Pro Series (made in Germany) model to be ordered by a shop in Japan.
The Pro Series is a German-made regular series that encompasses the flagship models that laid the foundation for Warwick. While custom specifications are usually not available for this series, this model is a testament to Ikebe's dedication, made possible through direct discussions and material selection in Germany, and above all, through a long-standing and strong partnership with local staff including Chairman Hans-Peter and new president Nicola, as well as the domestic distributor. It boasts "specs that allow for individuality, typical of shop orders, while remaining within the regular price range."
The LX, chosen as the basic model, retains the style of the brand's flagship Streamer series while offering excellent cost performance thanks to its bolt-on construction. Its rounded, compact body makes it a popular model boasting high playability regardless of playing style. It features a hard neck made from the brand's signature exotic wood, Ovangkol/Wenge, along with MEC pickups, a heavy and tight separate bridge, and an effective 2-band EQ. These standard specifications combine the distinctive high-mid attack characteristic of Warwick with the ease of use needed for both live performances and recording. But what truly sets it apart is its striking appearance, stemming from the body. The body top is made of "Birdseye Poplar," with its lifelike, undulating grain, and features a rich, non-catalog color scheme selected from a vast archive to maximize the wood's natural grain. While boasting a unique look not found in standard models, it maintains the same high quality (in fact, perhaps due to its limited production, you can feel the dedication put into its craftsmanship), allowing you to enjoy the distinctive sound that is uniquely Warwick. Of course, the weight, grain, and texture of each piece were carefully selected by Ikebe staff from a vast stock of wood at the German factory.
Each instrument boasts a strong sense of individuality in terms of appearance due to the body wood used, resulting in a specification that makes you feel like you're owning "the only bass in the world," even though it's part of a series. This special model was made possible by our long-standing relationship of trust with Warwick and the special occasion of Ikebe's 50th anniversary, so please experience it for yourself.
