Description
A used "Leqtique CLHD Caeruleum Light Drive High Definition" has arrived!
Based on the familiar Volume and Gain controls of a typical overdrive pedal, a special control in the middle called "Definition" allows for a wide range of sounds to be created.
This control blurs the contours of the sound in the time axis direction without sacrificing resolution. Circuit-wise, or audibly, it creates a sense of compression, rounded highs, smooth tone, and a fuzz-like effect. It's easiest to understand it as a Tone control that allows you to simultaneously manipulate various factors—not just high-cut—in a musical and intuitive way.
●As a Low Gain Overdrive, you basically create the base sound with Volume and Gain, and use the Definition control at your preferred position and purpose, from 0% for a crisp sound perfect for cutting, to 100% for a smooth sound like a TS-style pedal.
One of CLHD's greatest strengths is its ability to respond extremely sensitively to the guitar's volume, regardless of the setting, and to return to a full-range, flat, clean sound.
●As a Clean Booster
By setting the Definition and Gain to 0% and increasing the volume, it functions as a booster for ultra-high resolution and transparency.
This is due to the effect of the LT1028, an ultra-high-fidelity operational amplifier, being driven at around 30V by its internal boost circuit, and the effect of the brass casing capacitor installed inside.
If the sound seems to have added harmonics compared to the original, and you find this unwanted, you can slowly cut the Definition down to around 50% to achieve a more natural sound closer to the original.
●As a Gain Booster
By increasing the Gain control while raising the Definition control by more than 50%, you can achieve smooth compression and a natural high-end cut.
This is the effect of the Vintage 1N270 diode.
Try experimenting with using your favorite drive pedal both before and after it, especially when playing solos.
●As a buffer and preamp, the Gain is basically set to 0, and the Volume is fixed at around 50% to avoid compromising the original sound. The Definition control is then used to further refine the sound to match the original or to add a smooth, nuanced tone.
The exterior shows signs of use, such as scratches, dirt, and paint peeling, but it is in good working order.
