Description
Description
In the 1970s, various SG models underwent specification changes and additions, resulting in a wide range of variations. This particular model is the 'SG Special,' featuring a small pickguard and two mini-humbuckers.
【body】
The total weight is approximately [number] kg. The small black single-ply pickguard, which had already made a comeback by this time, and the new mini-humbucker pickups still look fresh today. The familiar thin mahogany body is cherry-colored, and the reddish tint on the body top has faded beautifully, resulting in an almost natural mahogany hue. There are signs of use such as weather checking, sticker residue, dents and scratches, and some plating peeling and tarnishing on the parts, but the paint itself has a good sheen, giving it a wonderful vintage instrument feel. The bottom of the bridge has been sanded down to lower the string height.
【neck】
The neck is made of 3-piece mahogany, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood. There is some weather checking around the brand logo inlay on the headstock and at the joints of the materials, as well as some minor dents on the back of the neck, but it is in relatively good condition. The tuners are functional, although there is some inconsistency in the winding. The frets and nut show only slight wear overall, and playability is good. The nut width is 40.0mm. It features a neck shape with a comfortable grip.
[Electrical System]
The controls are the familiar Les Paul/SG series setup: 3-way pickup selector, 2 volume controls, and 2 tone controls. The pickups are the original mini-humbuckers. The pickups and control components are in excellent condition, just as they were back then.
With its tight low end and clear mid-high frequencies characteristic of mini-humbuckers, it delivers a crisp, well-defined sound for chord work, and a solid yet bright tone with both sustain and edge for lead playing. You'll be able to fully enjoy the character reminiscent of the rock and blues scenes of that era.
