Description

[An Acrolite snare drum, believed to be from 1966, has arrived!!]

~No.404 Acrolite~
In 1963, when the American drum industry was beginning to gain momentum,
Ludwig released the Acrolite as a low-priced snare drum, cheaper than the Supraphonic (No. 400), aimed at beginners and as an educational tool, in order to expand their customer base.

With 8 tension rods, the sound, which comes from Ludwig's signature simple parts combined with a lightweight aluminum shell,
It produces an open, gentle, and rounded sound that is pleasant to listen to, and although it was released as an inexpensive model at the time,
It remains a snare drum that continues to attract a huge number of fans, from professionals to amateurs.

Despite having a metal shell, it features a warm and soft sound. The excellent balance between a light attack and gentle shell resonance allows it to blend seamlessly into an ensemble, making it a model that is still loved by many drummers today, with a sound that is ideal for jazz, blues, vocal music, and pop.

The date stamp is smudged and illegible, but the serial number suggests it's from around 1966.
The tension bolts have been replaced with Pearl stainless steel ones, and the washers have also been replaced with TAMA steel ones.
Additionally, a slight dent can be seen on the shell of the inner mute section.
Although it does not affect its operation, a slight bend in the strainer switch is also visible.

Although some parts have been replaced, it's in excellent condition considering it's 60 years old.
This is an extremely rare unit.
