Finding That Tone Ambar [GREEN SPARKLE]

The limited-edition AMBAR Sparkle, available in a total of five colors, with only one unit of each color featuring an aged finish, was exhibited at Sound Messe 2026!

The AMBAR Dual Overdrive is based on the legendary Klon and TS10 circuits, retaining the essence of the originals while redesigning key components to provide greater versatility and a wider range of tones. Furthermore, it can be stacked in either order (TS10 → Klon or Klon → TS10), and is all compact enough to fit on a pedalboard. The AMBAR delivers a multitude of tones in one pedal, including those iconic sounds everyone knows and loves.


■Amber side (Klon-style)

The Amber side of the AMBAR pedal is based on the Klon Centaur circuit, but with several significant improvements. One of the key additions is the BASS potentiometer, which allows you to adjust the bass frequencies to suit a variety of guitars and setups. This control is especially useful because the Klon can sound too deep when used as a boost with some gear, or too weak when set up as a distortion. To get the standard Klon tone, set the BASS pot to 12 o'clock.

When used as a booster, the amber side delivers a classic, fat tone with plenty of headroom and output. Turning the gain beyond 12 o'clock produces a powerful hard rock overdrive tone.

Of course, all the iconic features of Klon-style circuitry are retained, including Soviet NOS germanium diodes, a charge pump chip that raises the internal voltage from 9V to 18V, and dual gain pots that separate and control clean and dirty signals.

■Green side (TS10-style)

The green side draws inspiration from the TS10 circuit, redesigned to be more versatile while retaining the essence of the original TS10. A dedicated PRESENCE pot and STOCK/OPEN switch have been added.

The PRESENCE pot allows you to select the frequency to clip, giving you control over the emphasis of treble, midrange, or bass. The STOCK/OPEN switch toggles between the traditional TS frequency cut sound and a more open, less cut tone. To get the classic TS10 stock tone, keep the PRESENCE pot at 12 o'clock and the STOCK/OPEN switch in the STOCK (down) position. This setting gives you the characteristic midrange tone of all TS pedals and the velvety touch unique to the TS10 model. Switching to the OPEN (up) position reduces the bass and treble cut, resulting in a more open and natural sound.

■It combines the best of both worlds.

The AMBAR pedal combines the best features of the Klon and TS10 circuits with modern refinements, offering a wide range of tones in a compact size perfect for your pedalboard. While both are impressive on their own, they truly shine when stacked together as a dual pedal. The only question is which team they belong on: TS10 in the Klon, or Klon in the TS10? Actually, the CENTRAL SWITCH makes it easy to swap the stacking order, so they can belong on either team.

Furthermore, the buffers have been removed from the original circuits of both the Amber and Green pedals, making them fully true bypass. This means that the signal remains completely unchanged even when the pedal is turned off.
