The SPEED COBRA pedal, designed for speed-oriented players and featuring a long footboard, has evolved even further. New features such as the Swivel Spring Tight mechanism, which more smoothly converts foot pressure into the cam's circular motion, and the Accu-Strike Cobra Beater, a newly designed beater that delivers a more attack-focused sound, further advance the SPEED COBRA's core concept of "balancing speed and power."


●Long Footboard
The Speed ​​Cobra features a footboard approximately 10% longer than the Iron Cobra pedal. By pressing the heel side, which has a shorter vertical movement distance with the same force, you can improve your ability to handle fast passages. Furthermore, a Recessed Setting is employed to achieve a light press while maintaining a natural action. By setting the starting point of the footboard further back to a point where a comfortable "lightness" is achieved, it is possible to press with less force.

●Recessed Setting (US PAT.NO.8269089)
To sustain speedy playing, a lighter feel is required. The Speed ​​Cobra uses a chain mechanism to maintain the natural action of traditional drums while achieving a lighter feel, and the positional relationship between the cam and chain was carefully considered. The force with which the beater hits the bass drum head is mainly generated by the force (F1) applied to the footboard. Applying the physical principle that the larger the angle θ between the force F1 applied to the footboard and the force F2 applied by the chain, the less force F1 is required, the footboard starting point was set further back to the point where a natural "lightness" is achieved.

●Accu-Strike Cobra Beater
Developed to maximize the potential of the Speed ​​Cobra pedal, this new beater features a new material in the head. The BR (butadiene) resin used on the surface that hits the bass drum is characterized by its moderate hardness and excellent wear resistance. The Accu-Strike Beater, which uses this material, enables a uniform and punchy sound even when playing rapid drumming. In addition, by re-evaluating the balance between the distance from the tip to the end of the beater head and the shaft position, control performance has been improved. This has resulted in a focused sound that does not become muddy even at low volumes.

● Minimizing Power Loss
Speed ​​Cobra pedals incorporate bearings in each drive component to ensure smooth and stable movement. The shaft features ultra-precision bearings, the same type used in computer hard disk drives and automotive ABS systems, providing smooth and stable action. High-precision ball bearings at the connection point between the spring and shaft efficiently convert the force applied to the footboard into rotational energy for smooth pedal operation. Furthermore, Oiles bearings in the hinge eliminate unpleasant lateral movement of the footboard.

●Rolling Glide LiteSprocket
The cam (sprocket), which greatly affects the pedal action, employs a perfectly circular shape that pursues a balance between durability and lightness. By reducing the force required for rotational movement, a light pedaling feel is achieved.

● Super Stabilizer Design
The frame, which supports the shaft that drives the cam and beater—essentially the pedal's skeleton—has been widened by approximately 15mm, and the underplate that supports the entire pedal has been widened by approximately 12mm compared to the previous model. This significantly improves stability, allowing for consistent action without wobbling even during intense pedaling.

●Swivel Spring Tight (US.PAT.NO.9236038)
A new mechanism designed to maximize the effect of the spring. The shaft that fixes the lower end of the spring rotates in accordance with the movement of the pedal, so the spring always expands and contracts vertically without distortion even during vigorous movements. This converts the elastic energy stored in the spring into energy to move the pedal without loss. Furthermore, by reducing the friction at the connection point with the spring, it achieves ideal pedal work with light pressing and quick return.

●Hinge Guard Block
The method of securing the bearings at both ends of the hinge shaft has been changed from the conventional method of passing the shaft through the side of the footboard to a method of holding the bearings by sandwiching them from above and below. By distributing the force applied to the bearings when the pedal is pressed, the load on the hinge shaft itself is reduced. This allows for rotation with higher precision than previous models, resulting in unprecedentedly smooth operation.

● Oils Bearing Hinge
The hinge that serves as the pivot point for the footboard utilizes Oiles bearings, which are made of bell brass mesh coated with Teflon resin. This eliminates unpleasant lateral movement of the footboard, providing smooth pedal operation.

●Speedo-Ring
A high-precision ball bearing is installed at the connection point between the spring and the shaft. This bearing efficiently converts the elastic energy generated in the spring when the footboard is pressed into the rotational energy of the cam. Furthermore, because it precisely follows the movement of the spring, it achieves a smoothness that makes the movement of the foot and the movement of the footboard synchronize.

●Vari-Pitch Beater Holder
Beater/footboard angle adjustment function when used with Speedo-Ring. The distance the beater makes contact with the bass drum head can be adjusted steplessly without affecting the angle of the footboard.

●Para-Clamp II Pro
TAMA's original clamp, which securely holds bass drum hoops of various thicknesses, has been upgraded. By attaching rubber to the tip that secures the bass drum hoop, the grip is enhanced, providing strong fixation while minimizing damage to the hoop. Furthermore, because the tip has a three-dimensional movement structure, even in setups where the front of the bass drum is raised extremely high, the tip will fit according to the angle and stabilize the pedal. Moreover, the T-bolt used to tighten the clamp can be operated from the side of the footboard, so the pedal can be attached and detached even while seated on the drum throne.

●Cobra Coil (US. PAT.NO.7408104)
The Cobra Coil assists the footboard's return without affecting the pedal stroke by touching the underside of the footboard just before the pedal is fully pressed. The spring is movable forward and backward, allowing you to fine-tune the point where it makes contact and change the degree of footboard return.
