Entirely New Headless Experience Q (QUEST) Series

The establishment of technically-driven playing styles, advancements in instrument-making technology, and the ever-growing demand for lightweight, portable guitars have all contributed to the creation of numerous headless guitars, some of which far surpass classical guitar designs.

However, even amidst these advancements, Ibanez believed there was still more potential in this field. And the Q (Quest) series is Ibanez's new headless guitar option. This was not about converting existing models to headless or assembling them with headless parts, but rather a new quest to develop an entirely new guitar from scratch.

We study the playing styles of various players and pursue uniqueness and originality in every aspect, from parts such as pickups, bridges, and string locks to the body design. The result is the Q, a headless guitar that satisfies the insatiable curiosity of guitarists who continue to explore their own possibilities regardless of genre.

■Ergonomic body design
Featuring contouring and cutouts throughout to accommodate various playing styles, this guitar boasts a complex yet refined design that promises superior playability.

■Compact and light weight, yet resonant body
Despite having a solid body, it's surprisingly lightweight and compact. However, it doesn't compromise on its rich, warm, woody tone.

■Nyatoh body
The body is made of Nyatoh wood, which has excellent characteristics in the rich mid-low frequency range.

■Wizard C-7 5pc Roasted Maple/Bubinga neck
The neck has a standard shape that is neither too thick nor too thin, making it suitable for a variety of playing styles. The 5-piece construction of roasted maple and bubinga wood provides excellent stability and durability.

■Roasted Birdseye Maple fretboard
The fretboard is made of roasted birdseye maple, which is birdseye maple with a unique pattern resembling a bird's eye, that has been heat-treated. The heat treatment process removes excess moisture and oil from the wood, increasing its strength.

■JESCAR EVOgold Fret
It features JESCAR EVOgold frets, an alloy made of copper, tin, iron, and titanium. Compared to nickel-silver frets, it is characterized by a brighter tone and higher durability.
*The frets have been cleaned when the guitar was received as a used item, so they may appear slightly silvery. This does not affect the sound or playability.

■“R1-7”/“Q58-7” SSH pickups
This pickup features an SSH configuration, combining the R1-7 single-coil pickup and the Q58-7 humbucker pickup, both designed for 7-string guitars. Both pickups are balanced across all frequencies, making them easy to use with effects pedals. The low end is powerful and clear, while the high end is bright and clear without being harsh, resulting in a pleasant sound. It also boasts low noise, making it perfectly compatible with both digital and analog effects pedals. Recommended for those who want to enjoy the sounds of both single-coil and humbucker pickups.

■dyna-MIX9 switching system with Alter Switch
With a single flick of a mini-switch, you can easily switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, offering nine different sound variations. The neck and center single-coil pickups are wired in series, simulating the sound of a 24-fret neck humbucker. This switching system is ideal for modern guitar players who need to perform multiple roles with limited equipment.

■Custom string lock
Ibanez's newly developed Custom Stringlock features a simple, one-piece design. It offers excellent durability and makes string changes easy. Furthermore, it eliminates the need for special strings, allowing you to use your favorite gauges and brands.

■Mono Tune bridges
The wide range of intonation adjustments makes it easy to set down tunings of one whole tone or even further. String height adjustment is also simple.
