Description
Description
The Telecaster debuted as the Broadcaster in 1950 and has since reigned alongside the Stratocaster as a signature Fender guitar model. It's a classic electric guitar, with not only Fender's original model but also models inspired by it being produced by various manufacturers.
This time, we have a 1968-made guitar with a laminated maple neck and a body made by MJT Aged Guitars, a company well-known for its custom bodies and necks. The pink paisley aged finish is beautiful.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.6 kg. The body, manufactured by MJT Aged Guitars, is made of alder. It reproduces the "Pink Paisley" finish produced by Fender around 1968-69 and has been aged to a beautiful finish. While there is some rust and tarnish on the metal parts, there are no major scratches other than those from the aging process, and the neck is in excellent condition, matching its vintage look. The metal parts are original Fender parts, and the bridge saddles have been replaced with slanted brass ones.
【neck】
The neck is made of maple. It features a maple neck with a maple fingerboard, commonly known as "laminated maple." It's a rare example of a guitar from the lacquer finish era, and it's a delight to see it. Weathering around the headstock, paint peeling and discoloration on the back of the neck and fingerboard due to use, and tarnish on the metal parts give it the wonderful feel of a true vintage guitar. The tuners are slightly inconsistent in their winding, but still function properly. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and there's currently no significant wear, ensuring good playability. The headstock is 15.0mm thick. The nut width is 40.5mm. The neck profile is relatively sturdy.
[Electrical system]
The controls are a current-wiring 3-way pickup selector (neck/mix/bridge), volume, and tone knob, allowing for pickup mix selection. The neck pickup is from the mid-'70s, while the bridge pickup is dated, but is believed to be from a period close to the neck pickup. Two new pots and a new tone capacitor have also been installed. The instrument boasts the cohesive midrange characteristic of an alder body and the clear, well-defined attack of a veneer maple neck. The neck pickup offers a distinctive compression and sweetness without losing definition, while the bridge pickup offers the edge and snap characteristic of a Telecaster, creating a clear sound that's perfect for clean chord work and cutting.
