Description
Description
Fender's first solid-body electric bass, the Precision Bass, was born and released in 1951. Following the success of the Precision Bass, the Jazz Bass was released later, and it continues to influence the music scene today.
This is a sunburst color guitar shipped around 1971 with a popular rosewood fingerboard.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.95 kg. The body is made of alder. The three-tone sunburst finish, featuring Fender's signature "Fender Thick-Skin High-Gloss" polyester base, has faded red on the top while the back retains a relatively high red hue. There is paint peeling on the elbow contour and sides, paint peeling on the back due to a belt buckle, aging shrinkage on the pickguard, and tarnish on the metal parts, giving the instrument a vintage feel. The control knobs and pickguard set screws have been replaced slightly, and metal covers are included.
【neck】
The neck is made of one piece of maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. There is clean weather checking on the headstock, dents with paint chipping around the headstock and back of the neck, and some tarnish on the metal parts, but like the body, it is in good condition. The tuners are a little stiff but still function properly. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and while there is some wear on the low frets, there is no excessive choking or other issues, and playability is good. The headstock is 17.1mm thick. The nut width is 41.2mm, equivalent to a B-neck. The neck shape is relatively sturdy.
[Electrical system]
This P-bass features the simple master volume/master tone controls. Consumable parts like the pot and output jack have been replaced. The pickups and tone capacitor remain the original parts. The alder body and rosewood fingerboard produce a woody overtone and rich midrange, with a mellow attack, creating a tone that blends seamlessly into ensembles from the heyday of rock, blues, funk, and soul music. Turning the tone down brings a crisp yet rounded bass to the forefront, allowing you to fully enjoy the classic Precision sound that evokes the era.
