●The new Xeno Artist Model expands possibilities.A new BR type has been added to the Yamaha flagship trumpet, the Xeno Artist Model, which has received high praise worldwide.
In pursuit of performance that meets the needs of today's players, it uses more brass parts than the standard Xeno artist model.
This is a new-generation trumpet that offers high flexibility, agile control, and accurate pitch.
●Development Collaboration Artist / David Bilger: "The BR type is Yamaha's most advanced flagship trumpet model.
As a result of continuous refinement, the instrument is easier and more consistent to play, while at the same time producing a more complete sound.
The new BR models are capable of penetrating any ensemble, while retaining the ability to soften the sound when the music calls for more intimate color.
This trumpet offers unparalleled versatility, making it easy to play orchestral repertoire, film soundtracks, brass quintets, mixed chamber groups, and solo repertoire.
It's easy to produce sound, so you can play for long periods of time without feeling uncomfortable, and I think the sound resonates better.
I look forward to taking this trumpet out of its case every day! It's just so much fun to play."
Described by The New York Times as having "an easy brilliance" and lauded by The Washington Post as having "an engaging legato touch," David Bilger is Professor of Trumpet at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music.
Bilger served as principal trumpet of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and then as principal trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra from 1995 to 2022.
In addition to his full-time position at Northwestern University, he recently completed a 27-year teaching career at the Curtis Institute of Music.
In 2022, he received the International Trumpet Guild's highest award, the Honorary Award, and in 2023 he received the Distinguished Legacy Award from the University of Illinois College of Fine and Applied Arts.
●Xeno Artist Model BR Type The Xeno Artist Model, which combines tradition and confidence, now comes in a new BR type that brings even more possibilities.
The numerous brass parts used in the BR type not only bring out the sparkling tone and free playability, but also firmly support the accurate pitch that is unique to the Xeno artist model.
The New York Series BR type was developed with the full cooperation of David Bilger.
Based on a traditional style, it incorporates the latest innovations to produce a brilliant, powerful tone and a solid feel when playing.
●Brass two-piece valve casing The previous two-piece valve casing, with the upper part made of nickel silver and the lower part made of brass, has been changed to one where both the upper and lower parts are made of brass, and the top and bottom caps are also made of brass.
Because it has a lighter specific gravity than nickel silver, it has a brighter sound and allows for greater freedom in the feel of playing.
●The tapered design of the bell shape and the square bend in the U-shaped section provide ideal resistance.
This results in a powerful, solid, more "three-dimensional" sound and improves playability in the high range.
●French Bead: Unlike the common method of curling with a perfectly round rim, this is an extremely advanced method of curling by inserting a semi-cylindrical rim and adjusting the curl to match its shape. It is characterized by excellent sound feedback to the player.
●Lead pipe: The thin-walled Malone Pipe(TM) and finger-hook lead pipe use Malone Pipe(TM) with a thinner tube thickness than the Xeno Artist Model.
It provides the gorgeous tone and playing feel that is characteristic of the BR type, which has many brass parts.
The finger rest is not soldered directly to the leadpipe, so you will notice a difference in tone and response.
●Malone Pipe(TM)
Since Bob Malone opened his workshop in Los Angeles in 1983, many trumpet players have come to him to customize their instruments.
The uniquely designed reed pipe is particularly highly regarded and is still known as the Malone Pipe.
In 2001, Yamaha welcomed Malone to the development team and began using Malone pipes on some of their custom models.
With its rich, brilliant sound and excellent projection, this reed pipe will bring out the player's musical vision to the fullest.
●Water key and water key cork
The Xeno Artist Model water key has a redesigned weight distribution between the water key arm and saddle, improving playability and response while also making it easier to jump into the higher register.
The water key cork is now made of rubber cork, which is resistant to deterioration even with long-term use, improving the clarity, projection, and response of the sound.
*Rubber cork: Cork particles are evenly mixed into synthetic rubber, making it more compressively elastic than conventional cork.
●Bell extension seat design and position, support position The design of the bell extension seat has been designed to achieve faster response and a bright, solid tone.
The supports for the slides are arranged in a conventional manner.
●Slide stopper The slide stopper prevents the slide from falling off, and since it is made of silicone rubber, it can be used without discoloring the instrument.
It is strong and flexible, and can be left attached while playing. (Length: 12 cm)
