Description
Description
This is a used James Tyler guitar, a signature model from the king of component guitars! It features the ever-popular Burning Water colorway, synonymous with Tyler! It's believed to have been made in the early 2000s. Jim seems to have forgotten to write the serial number on the side of the headstock, making this a rare find!
(This item has a 270 written on the neck pocket and body pocket.)
James Tyler's signature model, the Studio Elite Burning Water! The Burning Water finish gives it a bold, irresistible look! This is a masterpiece that delivers the fat sound that's so characteristic of Tyler! The stage-ready color scheme and the rich, flat overtones of the classic Mamyo body, when combined with cutting-edge equipment, create a magical effect that captivates listeners! Of course, even with a simple setup, you can still enjoy a wild, raging rock sound!
This guitar does not have a spec sheet or bare arm contour, so it is a comprehensive judgment based on the color and porosity of the wood grain visible through the neck pocket, as well as the sound, but it is safe to say that this is a Mamuyo Modi guitar. It weighs approximately 3.47 kg and has a good balance that produces a firm sound!
As mentioned above, the serial number for James Tyler Guitars is usually written on the right side of the headstock, but we suspect that James Tyler forgot to write it on this particular guitar. Personally, I've seen two new James Tyler Guitars from the mid-2000s with the same serial number, so it's highly likely that this particular guitar also forgot to write it on. The neck pocket and body pocket each have "270" written on them. While three-digit serial numbers are common in the 1990s, this particular guitar's selection of a Willikinson VG-300 bridge pickup and DiMarzio DP410 Virtual Vintage pickups in the neck and center positions, which were commonly selected in 2002-2003, suggests it was made between 2002 and 2003. At the time, Jim not only selected the classic Seymour Duncan Classic Stax with a TB-4, but also often chose the DiMarzio for its "open, clear, and articulate" sound! While the DiMarzio DP-193 was often selected for the bridge pickup, this particular guitar features a Seymour Duncan TB-4.
It also features a Demeter-type mid-boost, allowing for a wide range of sound creation! It not only delivers a direct, compact sound, but also works well with cutting-edge rack equipment, a feature unique to Tyler!
The popularity of James Tyler Guitars comes from the direct feedback of professional players! This guitar is easy to play, plays in any position, and lets you enjoy the wild sound of Tyler magic!
As mentioned above, Mamuyo was selected for the body! You can enjoy the natural, harmonically rich sound and tone! The internal cavity at James Tyler Guitars USA was custom-built in a so-called lunchbox style in the front and center sections, which allows for the optimal compatibility with a front humbucker. We suspect this is also a factor in the distinctive James Tyler sound and tone, which has a deep, harmonically rich, hollow feel. This harmonically rich sound blends seamlessly into the ensemble, is well-suited to rack systems, and produces a magical tone that will have you feeling Tyler wherever you go!
The neck features an impressive headstock and a rich Indian rosewood fingerboard, ensuring a comfortable fingering experience. The frets are 6100-type jumbo frets. The neck sides are also moderately scalloped, making for a comfortable grip and excellent playability.
The tuning machines are Sperzel locking pegs, and the bridge is a Wilkinson VG-300, which was James Tyler's standard bridge until the mid-2000s. You can enjoy the smooth action and bell-like sound!
On the Wilkinson VG-300 and VS-100, the arms are generally fixed by inserting them and turning them around, but James Tyler has deliberately removed the part that secures the arms on the back of the bridge, and instead set it up so that the arms are fixed using the set screws in the arm insertion port on the top of the bridge!
This time, we have a recommended used player's condition guitar in stock! It is estimated to have been made between 2002 and 2003.
There are some small scratches, dents, scratches on the pickguard, scratches on the corners around the headstock, tarnish on the pole pieces, and tarnish on the metal parts, but none of these affect playability. This guitar has been fully maintained and cleaned at our shop, so it's in excellent condition and ready to play! The back panel and arm are missing.
The frets have been filed and are ready to use. There are approximately 85% remaining. The nut is also in good condition and can be used without any problems. The truss rod can be adjusted normally without any problems.
The electrical system has been fully checked and there are no problems with operation.
It weighs approximately 3.47 kg, a balance that makes it easy to use yet produces a solid sound.
Tyler's signature color, Burning, makes the water look amazing!
The only accessory included is the original hard case.
Keys, arms and back panel are not included.
James Tyler is in short supply! Experience the full charm of Tyler USA!
