To create a new bass guitar like no other, based on a solid concept. To reexamine our own bass guitar with a theme in mind, and create an even more exciting bass guitar. And to broaden the joy of playing together with bassists who resonate with us. The Ibanez Bass Workshop is a project that Ibanez is proud to undertake, as a Japanese bass guitar brand.

The SRD-exclusive okoume body features an exotic maple top and a three-dimensional arched body. The okoume body provides rich mid- and low-frequency response, which is essential for the bass sound, while the maple top provides a sense of attack and crisp high-frequency response. (Low gloss finish)
Half hollow, half solid body structure: To achieve the full, solid low-end tone that is the key to fretless sound, the half of the body on the bass string side is hollow.
30-fret fingerboard (Panga Panga wood) allows for 2.5 octave range
The 30-fret fingerboard is made of hard Panga Panga wood, designed for players with technical skill up to the high fret zone. (The fret lines on the fingerboard are made of black resin.)

The Big Break, a pickup jointly developed by Ibanez and Nordstrand, is modeled after the excellent tone characteristics of Nordstrand's classic Big Single pickup, but features a split-coil design for enhanced noise cancellation, tighter highs, and a boomier low end. The piezo pickup located in the bridge saddle allows for a more upright bass-like sound.
2-Band EQ & Active Tone Control This guitar features two pickups, magnetic and piezo, and features independent volume controls for each pickup. The magnetic pickup has a two-band equalizer, allowing intuitive sound shaping, while the piezo pickup has a tone control, allowing for a wide variety of sound shaping. Additionally, the piezo pickup volume can be adjusted individually for each string using the trim accessible from the back of the body.
