Approximately eight years after the birth of V-Class bracing, Taylor Guitars' "Next Generation Series" was completed after years of design verification and incorporating feedback from players around the world.
At its core is the latest evolution of Scalloped V-Class bracing.
While retaining the V-shaped structure that suppresses unwanted twisting of the top wood, the bracing is scalloped to bring out the body top's inherent vibrations in a more natural way, maximizing its potential.
The lower register produces a warmer, deeper sound, and the open strings have a rich resonance with a sense of airiness. The V-class features, such as accurate pitch, directness of sound, and excellent projection that prevents the sound from getting lost in an ensemble, are also retained.
With fingerstyle playing, you'll experience a three-dimensional, deep response, while with strumming, you'll feel a full core tone and clear projection.
One of the key features of this model is the newly developed Action Control Neck, which allows for simultaneous control of playability and sound.
By employing a long tenon neck joint, the efficiency of vibration transmission with the body is enhanced, resulting in a warm tone and rich sustain.
Furthermore, simply adjusting the bolt inside the soundhole allows for quick and precise string height adjustments, providing flexibility to adapt to changes in playing style, season, and environment without having to remove the neck or strings.
This neck construction, unique to Taylor guitars, not only provides ease of playing but also directly impacts the attack and response of the sound.
The 414ce, a cost-effective model among USA-made Taylor guitars, has been further refined as a next-generation model, evolving in both sound and playability.
The combination of solid Indian rosewood sides and back and a solid Sitka spruce top produces a clear tone with excellent transparency and resolution. The warmth of the bass, which is not overly boomy, and the crispness and projection of the treble are tones that can only be described as being unique to rosewood. The sides and back are also finished with a gloss coating, giving it a luxurious look.
Featuring Taylor's signature Grand Auditorium body, this model boasts a well-balanced frequency range from low to high. While the rosewood construction provides a sense of weight, it also delivers a full midrange and a rich, enveloping sound with abundant harmonics.
With its versatile tone, suitable for both strumming and fingerpicking, it will be especially well-suited for accompanying vocals.
Furthermore, it is equipped with the newly developed Claria pickup system.
This is Taylor's latest generation pickup system, developed with the concept of providing stable sound in all situations, from large hall stages to home playing environments.
The redesigned under-saddle piezo pickup combined with a dedicated preamplifier reduces the harshness and edginess often associated with conventional piezo pickups, enabling a wide range of tonal possibilities, from warm, full bass to clear, well-defined sounds.
It is less affected by the PA environment and volume levels, and maintains a natural sound image that always blends seamlessly into the mix, from solo performances to band ensembles.
This system is easy to use not only on live stages but also during rehearsals, home recording sessions, and practice sessions at home, making it highly practical.
Taylor, a brand that never stops evolving, presents the ultimate form of next-generation acoustic guitar.
Please experience its sound and playability for yourself.
