The 535 has finally arrived! It has the powerful sound that is characteristic of MTD.

MTD (Michael Tobias Design) is named after the master Michael Tobias, who laid the foundation for modern high-end basses and contributed greatly to the development of multi-string bass design and construction. In stark contrast to the multi-layer laminate/neck-through construction that defined an era, MTD has pioneered a new path with a simple bolt-on style. Designed for optimal tone and playability, MTD instruments are carefully assembled with expert craftsmanship, based on a thorough understanding of the unique characteristics of each wood, resulting in a musically rich tone unique to handmade instruments, and an appealing instrument that becomes more beautiful with each play.

The five-piece maple/purpleheart neck with titanium reinforcement bars is paired with an ash body, producing the powerful, active sound that's so characteristic of MTD guitars. The fingerboard is made of dark purpleheart, a hard wood that isn't as compressive as ebony, giving it the ability to handle even hard slaps with ease and resonance. It pairs well with the punchy ash body, and many players will be looking for this kind of sound in a five-string MTD.

As it is designed based on a 35-inch guitar, it has a very natural playing feel and excellent balance, and the clear, punchy low B sound is the ultimate coolness for black music bass lines.

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
