In 1963, when the American drum industry was beginning to gain momentum,
In order to expand its customer base, Ludwig released the Acrolite as a low-cost snare drum for beginners and educational use, cheaper than the Supraphonic (No. 400).
It has 8 tensions, and the sound is created by the combination of simple parts unique to Ludwig and a lightweight aluminum shell.
It produced an open, gentle, and rounded tone that was pleasant to listen to, and although it was released as a budget model at the time,
It has become a snare drum that continues to have many fans, from professionals to amateurs.
This model that has just arrived is a prototype that uses aluminum parts, including the lugs and hoops.
Also known as the "Ultralite," it is said that fewer than 200 units were produced.
The body is extremely light, and compared to Acrolite, it has a milder, softer sound.
It is not a model that produces a lot of volume,
Very warm and thick, yet clear sound.
It will be particularly useful when recording.
All parts are original except for the head.
The snare wire at the plastic end is twisted.
The hoop is made of aluminum, so it is unavoidable, but there are some scratches.
However, considering that it is over 60 years old, it is in excellent condition and is a very valuable museum-quality vehicle.
