James Tyler Guitars Japan was started when James Tyler proposed that he wanted to produce JTG guitars that reflected his own ideas as a guitar designer, using Japan's outstanding technical capabilities.

The production process began with obtaining highly accurate 3D CAD data, which is the heart of James Tyler's guitar design. Based on this data, we began by combining it with Asuka's outstanding technical skills. After several detailed prototypes were created and repeated trial and error, the final check was conducted by James Tyler himself at the JAMES TYLER GUITARS Factory in LA. The quality was so high that James Tyler exclaimed, "Are you going to go this extreme? It's perfect!" Since its release, new products have been produced using the same process, and James Tyler Guitars Japan is a guitar we can confidently recommend to all guitar players.

This popular model, the STUDIO ELITE HD, boasts excellent playability and a wide range of sound variations.

The body features a quilted maple top with scraped binding that reveals the maple grain around the perimeter, and a Mamuyo back. The full, flat overtones of the Mamuyo back body, when combined with cutting-edge equipment, create a magical sound that captivates the listener! Of course, even with a simple setup, you can still enjoy a wild, untamed rock sound!

The exquisite quarter-sawn maple, comparable to that of USA-grade wood, is carefully selected for its humidity control to suit the Japanese climate. The fingerboard, like the neck, is also made of maple. One of the attractions of James Tyler Guitars is that the sound is not too harsh, even with a maple fingerboard!

The thin neck profile provides excellent playability, crafted using a jig based on measurements taken from the original USA-made guitar. The hand-shaped neck is a direct reflection of James Tyler's unique grip. The fingerboard sides feature smooth scalloped edges, an 11R fingerboard radius, and jumbo Jascar frets. The slant cut at the body and neck joint ensures excellent playability in the upper registers. This exceptional finish ensures a stress-free playing experience for all players!

The clear, responsive sound is matched by the impressive vibration of the body and neck. You can clearly feel the body and neck amplifying Tyler's distinctive, brilliant tone. By using Mamuyo wood for the body, it produces a flatter, more resolute, and wider sound range than ash or alder! You can enjoy the range that makes it blend in with your band ensemble while still having a strong presence!

The bridge is a Gotoh T-block model with a "G2TS" saddle engraved with James Tyler. This combination is a golden combination, providing smooth arm action and vintage-like overtones. The nut is made of tightly grooved Graph Tech for a smooth feel, and the tuning machines feature Hip Shot locking pegs. This instrument is ready for action, providing stable tuning and allowing for quick string changes. Despite the long scale, the locking pegs and Gotoh bridge provide excellent string tension, improving playability and long sustain.

The pickups, James Tyler Original Humbucker and James Tyler Original Single Coil Humbucker pickups, deliver a refined, superb body resonance, allowing for a wide range of sound creation.

The direct-mounted pickups, with their clear response and wide range, produce a crisp, drive-like sound with excellent sustain. The front pickup is the RETRO, which delivers a warm, PAF-like clean sound with a not-too-bright high end and a balanced midrange, allowing you to enjoy a well-defined overdrive sound and creamy classic tone. The center pickup is the JTS5500, which supports a 500k volume pot and delivers a balanced H/S/H sound. The rear pickup is the ANGRY RETRO, which has a higher output than the RETRO pickup! It has even more low-mids and mids than the RETRO pickup, providing a more sustained attack. It delivers a well-defined overdrive sound and creamy classic tone!
The wiring, grounding, and volume control are all the same as the original USA model. The volume pot is equipped with a high-pass capacitor, so high frequencies are not cut off even when the volume is turned down.

Compared to the SE model, known for its distinctive switching system and full options, the HD model features a simple mid-booster circuit. It features a 5-way lever pickup selector, a mid-booster on/off push switch, a master volume, a mid-booster volume, and a master tone. The HD model also features a master tone control, allowing for operation similar to that of a regular guitar. The mid-boost can also be turned on/off with a single switch, allowing you to create a fat sound with added low-midrange or turn it on to extend sustain. This player-friendly spec allows you to control everything at your fingertips, as expected. When the mid-boost circuit is on, the signal passes through the active circuit, resulting in a slightly increased output and clear sound, even at zero boost level, which is an essential sound for Tyler. When the battery is depleted, you can bypass it and use it as a passive guitar.

This time, we have a recommended used item in stock! It was made in 2024.
There are some small scratches, scratches near the back cutaway of the body, and some tarnish on some parts, but overall it is in excellent condition! It has been fully maintained and cleaned at our shop, so it's ready to use right away!

The frets are in good condition and are almost intact. The nut is also in good condition and can be used as is. The truss rod can be adjusted normally.

The electrical system has been fully checked and there are no problems with operation.
