The Yamaha "SG" series was an original model that first appeared in the 1960s. It began as early as the GS era and underwent several major model changes, eventually reaching the double cutaway shape with the SG-30/35 around 1973. The traditional SG shape, which continues to this day, was perfected with the SG-175 in the following year, 1974, and has since spawned numerous variation models.
The latest model in stock is the popular mid-range model, the SG-1000.
【body】
The total weight is approximately 4.4 kg. The maple top/mahogany back body is Yamaha's classic red sunburst color, a popular color with vividness and depth. There are signs of wear and damage throughout, such as small scratches, dents, and tarnish on the metal parts, but the paint retains its beautiful luster, and considering that it is nearly 30 years old, it can be said to be in excellent condition.
【neck】
The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and maple with a set neck joint. The tuners are original and work well with almost no variation in winding. The back of the neck, like the body, is minimally damaged and there are no noticeable dents. The frets and nut are not worn down much, and there is currently no buzzing or clogging, making for excellent playability. The nut width is approximately 43.3mm. The fairly solid neck width and thin neck shape are typical of Yamaha.
[Electrical system]
The controls are a 2-volume, 2-tone, and 3-way pickup selector switch, and each tone pot is equipped with a push-push "Bi-Sound System," a traditional style. The pickups are two original semi-open pickups, delivering a powerful, eye-opening tone that's characteristic of Yamaha. In combination with the aforementioned Bi-Sound, it can even cover sharp single-coil tones, allowing for a wide range of sound creation.
