The Pro Series, which was ordered by the Japanese distributor with specifications preferred by Japanese customers, was formerly called the J Series. Later, it was renamed the J Select Series, and currently, what was formerly called the Pro Series is now the Core Line, while the models ordered by the Japanese distributor with specifications preferred by Japanese customers are called the JE Line.

This Pro Series S3 features a beautiful flame maple top and basswood back, resulting in a highly responsive, sharp attack and a wide range that follows the player's playing without any noticeable quirks—a specification favored by John Suhr himself!
This guitar features a Dinky shape, which is easier to handle than a traditional full-size ST body. It boasts a classic standard specification with a traditional design body with a pickguard, a user-friendly SSH pickup layout, and a synchronized tremolo bridge! The smartly shaped Dinky style is well-balanced and suits any playing style, and the slant cut at the neck joint provides excellent playability. The beautifully grained maple neck and rosewood fingerboard are assembled with high precision, resulting in a highly resolving, vibrant attack and long sustain.

The comfortable maple neck shape, the Even C Slim, is designed to support smooth playing and fits easily in your hand! It's the most popular neck shape among Suhr Guitars' offerings for its ease of playability! You'll feel less stressed even during long playing sessions. The fingerboard is made of Indian rosewood. A compound radius (10-14R) is also used to match the playing characteristics of the high and low positions! The frets are made of nickel silver Heavy. You can enjoy the familiar tone that only nickel silver can provide. The tuning pegs are equipped with Hipshot Locking, ensuring tuning stability and instant string changes.

The pickups feature two JST ML Single Coil pickups, meticulously wound in-house, and a high-power JST Aldrich Bridge Humbacker in the bridge position. This ensures that the player's dynamics are fully transmitted to the amplifier without being compromised.
The controls include a 5-way switch, and a blower switch that instantly activates the rear pickup! Pressing the switch turns it on. This allows for a wide range of sound shaping!

Suhr Guitars' model lineup includes the full-size Classic and the 24-fret Modern, but this Dinky-shaped Standard is reminiscent of the comfortable shape of the famous Pensa-Suhr guitar model from Rudy's Music in New York in the early 1980s, which can be considered John Suhr's starting point!
Many of the Suhr Custom guitars, which were produced in small quantities under his own name, also had a Dinky shape!

No matter how relaxed you try to be while performing in front of an audience, everyone experiences some degree of tension, and even the slightest warp in the neck or distortion of the pick becomes noticeable. As a result, you tend to put in more unnecessary force than usual.

We've just received a recommended used item, officially imported! It's a 2011 model.
The pickguard is quite discolored, but it matches the Charcoal Burst color! There are no issues with its functionality.
While there are some minor scratches, small dents, uneven paint on the back of the body, and some tarnishing on the parts, none of these affect playability. We have performed a full maintenance and cleaning at our shop, so it is ready to use immediately.

The frets have been leveled and are ready to use. Approximately 80% of the fret life remains.
The nuts are in good working order and function normally. The truss rods also function correctly for normal adjustments.

The electrical system has also been fully checked, so there are no problems with its operation.

The weight is approximately 3.59 kg. It offers a balance that makes it easy to use while producing a solid, focused sound.

■John Suhr
John Suhr has a long and distinguished career, having demonstrated his abundant talents in a wide range of fields!
In the mid-1970s in New Jersey, he began his career building his own instruments, pursuing the perfect tone since his days playing in bar bands.
In the early 1980s, he began working under Rudy Penza at Rudy's Music in New York, starting the famous Pensa-Suhr guitars. He went on to craft guitars for world-renowned legends such as Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, and Peter Frampton.
After that, in 1991 he left New York and moved to California, where he began working alongside Bob Bradshaw and joined Custom Audio Electronics. There, he co-designed the legendary CAA 3+ and 3+SE tube preamps, as well as the CAA OD100 amplifier. Alongside this, he produced a small number of guitars bearing his own name, the Suhr CUSTOM.
Later, he received an offer from Fender and, in 1995, at John Page's request, joined the Fender Custom Shop as a Senior Master Builder. He built and supplied guitars for Michael Landau, Scott Henderson, Peter Frampton, and others. Then, in 1997, he left Fender and launched his own brand, Suhr Guitars (JS Technologies Inc).
With his diverse career and talents, he truly deserves to be called a genius!
