Description
Description
The Telecaster Bass was released in 1968 as a reissue of the early 1950s Precision Bass. Like the original, it came in a standard blonde color, but around the same time, custom versions like the Telecaster guitar were also released, featuring pink paisley and blue flower patterns.
This time, we have a humbucker model shipped around 1972. It's an interesting guitar that has been customized for players with additional pickups and back contouring.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.3 kg. The body is made of ash. Adding a PJ-style pickup to the original humbucker creates a very interesting sound. The back of the body has been re-contouring, with the contoured sections repainted white and the entire guitar finished with a clear coat. The bridge has been replaced with a Babicz top-loader (through-the-front) bridge. The control cavity has been treated with conductive paint to reduce noise. The control knobs and jack plate have also been replaced, and the finger rest is missing. Weather-checking, fading in the blonde finish, dents with peeling paint, and tarnished metal parts all contribute to the distinctive vintage instrument feel.
【neck】
The neck and fingerboard are made of one-piece maple. Following the refret and nut replacement, a clear coat can be seen from the headstock to the back of the neck and fingerboard. There are some small dents and tarnish on the metal parts, but the guitar remains in relatively good condition. The tuners are slightly inconsistent in terms of tightness, but they still function properly. The frets and nut have been replaced once, and playability is excellent. The headstock is 17.1mm thick. The nut width is 41.2mm. The neck has a sturdy shape.
[Electrical system]
The controls have been significantly revised to accommodate the addition of additional pickups. The additional PJ pickups feature stacked knobs: front (neck) volume, (above stack) center tone, (below stack) center volume, (above stack) rear (bridge) tone, and (below stack) rear volume. The tone capacitor and output jack have also been replaced. The neck pickup is a Fender humbucker from the era (a slightly later date), the additional center pickup is a Fender Custom Shop "62 P-Bass," and the additional bridge pickup is a Fender Custom Shop "62 Jazz Bass." Perhaps due to its lineage from the original P-Bass, the outstanding P-style tone of the neck and center pickups is appealing. The addition of a J-style bridge pickup adds a touch of spice, allowing for a wide range of sound creation.
