-Custom Shop Factory Wood Selection Custom Model-
The Martin Custom Shop is the pinnacle of modern Martin, where all products are handmade by around 20 skilled craftsmen, only the most skilled of whom are allowed to work in the vast factory.
This is a carefully crafted masterpiece, created by Ikebe Musical Instruments' acoustic staff who visited the Martin factory and selected the finest wood materials that are only used in custom shops.
This is a guitar ordered based on the D-28 Authentic 1941, which has unfortunately been discontinued.
The D-28 Authentic 1941 is a perfect reproduction of the 1941 D-28 on display at the Martin Museum, a pinnacle model coveted by Martin fans. Currently, only the 1937 model is available, with the 1941 model, which has more exclusive specifications, having been discontinued in 2017.
Compared to the 1937 model, which features forward shift bracing and a wide 44.5mm neck, giving it a powerful sound, the 1941 model, with its rear shift bracing and narrow 43mm neck, is characterized by a tight, well-balanced sound.
Generally, the 1937 model is more popular because it sounds better, but the 1941 model is sometimes called the "ultimately balanced D-28" by Martin aficionados, and its performance is undeniable.
This instrument features a 43mm V-shaped neck with rear-shift scalloped bracing, the most distinctive feature of the 1941 model. While retaining the main specifications of the authentic model, it also features modern features such as an adjustable truss rod and drop-in style saddles.
This time, the side and back material is made of premium grade Madagascar rosewood, a rare material that was available as a special offer from Martin.
Due to its rarity, Madagascar rosewood is currently not available for use in Martin's regular models or custom orders. However, it was reissued in limited quantities for this factory order tour, and only participating dealers were allowed to order it, so we carefully selected it from our rare stock.
We also use premium-grade Adirondack spruce for the top, a material with the most power and tenacity, as we wanted to create a D-28 with a solid fundamental tone and power.
This guitar is the perfect match of the thick, penetrating mid-range notes typical of the 1941 model and the sweet, mellow overtones unique to Madagascar rosewood.
Thanks to a special offer from Martin, we were able to create a special guitar that we will likely never see again.
Nippachi is a brand that we can wholeheartedly and confidently recommend to anyone with particular tastes. Don't miss out on this opportunity!
