This bass combines the portability that is the greatest advantage of the headless style with ease of playability. And above all, it features ingenuity in bass sound. Headless basses have often been said to be "not resonant" or "difficult to use," but Ibanez Bass Workshop has re-examined them and created a completely new headless bass, the EHB. It is not a copy of other headless models, nor is it simply a headless version of an existing design or shape. This is the birth of a new Ibanez bass, the EHB.

The ergonomically designed EHB body features a horn that balances the body and neck when playing while standing, and is shaped for easy handling. The body curve on the treble string side is designed with particular emphasis on fit and balance when playing while seated.
The body surface has a contoured design where the elbows rest, creating a slight bevel. Additionally, all body edges that come into contact with the body are finished with a smooth, rounded radius.
The back of the body is boldly cut to become thinner towards the bass strings. This is designed to improve the fit when playing while seated, and also takes into account the viewing angle of the fretboard inlays. In addition, the back of the horn on the treble string side is cut in a scoop shape to facilitate access to the higher frets.

- Chambered hollow body construction allows you to feel the body's resonance more intuitively. By directly experiencing the vibrations within the body, like a hollow body, the player will be able to recognize the sound they are producing more clearly. It also contributes to a slight reduction in weight.

Fishman Fluence pickup
This active pickup features multi-voice capabilities with three different sounds and a wide dynamic range. It is fitted with the blue metal cover that is the concept behind the EHB5MSBSP.

Fishman 3-band EQ, single-coil mode switch, voice select switch
The EQ is a simple Fishman 3-band equalizer. The center frequency of the Mid control is set to 630Hz. Additionally, the volume control's push/pull function allows you to select the mode of the two pickups. In single-coil mode, only the inner coils of both the front and rear pickups are active. The mini-switches allow you to switch between three different sounds: Voice 1 (classic, fat, and rounded sound) when positioned at the neck, Voice 2 (powerful, full-dynamics sound) when positioned at the bridge, and Voice 2 Mid Contour (a funky, hi-fi sound with scooped mids) when positioned at the center. Combining these two switches allows you to enjoy a total of six different tones.

・MR5HS mono rail bridge w/string spacing adjustable saddles
This is a uniquely designed and developed bridge specifically for headless guitars, where tuning is done by rotating the bridge end.
The stiffness of the turn mechanism was a weakness of other companies' products, but thanks to our unique design and the use of Teflon washers, we've achieved a smoother turn. The saddle can be moved 1.5mm to the left and right, allowing you to set the string spacing (string pitch) as you like within the movable range. This allows for fine-tuning to suit your playing style. This is a special hardware in blue, the concept color of the EHB5MSBSP.
