Born from the Masterworks STUDIO recipe, the maple + gumwood combination is considered one of the best drum sounds ever used in recording. MMG delivers even greater performance in recording environments.
Featuring a combination of a 6-ply shell with equal thickness of maple (outer 4-ply) and gumwood (inner 2-ply), this guitar boasts a punchy tone, explosive attack, and overwhelming low-end response and dynamic range.

-Explosive tonal clarity and articulation for recording-
Masters Maple Gum is considered one of the best drum sounds ever used in recordings.
Featuring a 6-ply shell of equal thickness made of maple and gumwood, combined with a shallow 60° outer bearing edge, this hybrid shell delivers power and a subtly lustrous sound.
The shells are manufactured using superior shell technology that employs unique techniques to achieve the ultimate resonance.
The process begins with the careful selection of wood to ensure superior acoustic properties, and then the use of scarf-cut joints is employed to create a high-density and precise thickness.
Each ply's cellular pores are filled with Pearl's unique glue, and then molded under high pressure and high temperature of 1000 PSI (heat compression molding system), resulting in a powerful drum shell that boasts superior tone, optimal resonance, and high durability.
Furthermore, all shells undergo rigorous inspection for edge flatness and roundness before drilling and assembly to ensure the best head mounting and tuning stability.
In the lacquer finishing process, skilled craftsmen meticulously apply the finish without compromising the natural resonance of the shell.
The uniformly thick 6-ply (5.4mm) shell is constructed from 4 plies of outer maple and 2 plies of inner gumwood, combining the warmth of maple with the toughness of gumwood, resulting in a drum that is both resilient and possesses explosive attack power.
