FAQ

Description

Inspired by the color scheme of UNISON SQUARE GARDEN's Tabuchi model, we've received a new STEM JMB4 custom order item with an aged finish, now available as a selectable option!

STEM is a brand that maintains the same high quality of wood carefully selected and stocked by Sago, while limiting specifications, outsourcing costly woodworking processes, and reviewing small parts to achieve more affordable prices.
All processes from woodworking onward, including painting and setup, are carried out in Sago's workshop, ensuring consistent quality and enabling Sago's signature finishes, such as traditional colors and wrap painting. By combining these with pickguard colors, a wide variety of options are created.

We are pleased to announce the second installment in the STEM bass series: the JMB4 (JM Bass), a highly popular model under the Sago brand!
While retaining the traditional JM-type body design, the horns have been slightly extended to improve balance when held with a strap, and the cutaway has been widened to allow smoother access to the higher positions, thus enhancing playability. The pickup cover for the 4-string type also uses the same cover as the JM type, resulting in a design that combines coolness and pop appeal.
The custom-ordered model for Tamura-san of Spitz and the custom model for Derashi-san of Humbreaders have a similar shape and are very popular among musicians.

To take advantage of the resonance inherent in the traditional woods—alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard—this passive guitar employs a split-coil pickup similar to a P-type, resulting in a punchy, mid-range-heavy sound. Weighing approximately 3.89kg, it's also lightweight, and the lightweight tuners and small headstock provide excellent balance when playing standing up, making it incredibly easy to handle on stage.

This guitar features a color scheme inspired by the Sago Tabuchi MK-III(3) favored by Tomoya Tabuchi of Unison Square Garden. It's a Transparent Kohaku color with an ultra-thin Thin Film finish that allows you to see the alder wood grain, and a heavily aged finish that gives it the appearance of being well-used for many years. This is a custom order specification that we are particular about, with the realistic aged look processed by staff with experience in the relic department of the Fender Custom Shop.
The aged finish applied to the pickguard and other parts creates an outstanding design that seamlessly blends modern and vintage elements.

Sago is a brand favored by many professionals, but it also has a strong image as a fully custom-order brand, and is not widely available at music stores. However, at our store, we offer a wide range of products, including the "Sago" brand, as well as "Stem," which is domestically produced but offers more accessible prices by reducing options and production costs, and "Seed," a student brand that features artist models. Please come and try them out at our store! Also, please feel free to contact us if you are interested in ordering a custom-made instrument!
