Description
Description
'Collectera' is a project where luthiers and musicians have brought their ideals to life, aiming for the pinnacle of jazz.
A luthier and a musician living in different worlds. The collaboration between luthier Yuki Nishigaki and bassist Ryo Miyaji began in 2019 with the joint development of Nishgaki Guitars' first semi-hollow bass, "TEMPESTA." Since then, they have deeply shared their explorations of music and instruments, and have arrived at the ideal of a dream instrument that did not yet exist but that they have long sought.
The "Collectera S-1" is designed with a 14.2-inch full-size body, semi-hollow construction, and a 777mm short scale as its basic specifications. It features specially designed hardware and custom electronics to realize a unique structure that allows the use of long-scale strings. In addition to the smooth curves created by the handcrafted work of artisans, it also incorporates a "Japanese" taste, such as using indigo dye and lacquer in the finish, giving the instrument a refined and understated Japanese feel.
The tight low end that supports the ensemble, the rich resonance of the high strings for melodies and chord work—these are just some of the requests of players who know 6-string guitars inside and out. The moderate tension of the short scale also contributes to the ease of string control, resulting in high playability.
This custom-ordered instrument features a beautiful horse chestnut top, maple back, and ebony fingerboard. It produces a full, resonant tone with a solid core, yet possesses the resonance characteristic of a hollow body. It's incredibly appealing not only for bass lines with a low center of gravity, but also for playing in the rich, resonant high register.
It appears to have been played with care, as there are some minor scratches on the back of the neck from playing, showing some signs of use, but the body and other parts are free of any noticeable damage, resulting in a very clean appearance. Currently, the truss rod is loosened, and there is slight relief in the neck, but the condition is perfectly fine, and there are no concerns whatsoever regarding the frets or electronics.
Don't miss out on this rare, top-quality used item!
