YAMAHA YTR-8330EM Eric Miyashiro Signature Model Bb Trumpet


Under the supervision of world-renowned trumpeter Eric Miyashiro, his signature EM model has undergone a model change for the first time in 17 years.
While retaining the powerful and responsive sound of previous models, the valve casing, which can be called the heart of the trumpet, has been completely redesigned, and each individual part has been reviewed to optimize the playing feel in the high register and further improve control.
As artists who consistently remain at the forefront of the world evolve, so too do the EM models.



Features

• Newly designed leadpipe and receiver: By providing just the right amount of resistance, it makes it easier to aim for high notes and optimizes the playing feel and control performance.


- Step Bore (ML) Adoption: A step bore (ML) design has been adopted to achieve a balanced playing feel across the entire range and a consistent, uniform sound. As a result, the model name will change from YTR-8340EM to YTR-8330EM.

*The main tuning slide has an L bore, the tuning slides have an ML bore, and the pistons have an M bore. This ensures a smooth and consistent playing feel regardless of the combination of pistons 1 through 3, even when the valves are open.


• Phosphor Bronze Parts: In pursuit of the ideal tone and optimal playing balance, we repeatedly prototyped numerous materials and weights, and for the first time in a Yamaha trumpet, we adopted phosphor bronze bottom caps and stopper screws.
The brilliant overtones in the high-frequency range and the richness of the overtones in the mid-frequency range have been improved.


- Main tuning slide brace: This brace features a unique shape that provides less resistance than a standard brace, minimizing changes in playing feel and resistance while refining the tone.
Furthermore, with this model change, the position of the support struts has been redesigned and the overall design has been updated to achieve the optimal playing feel.


- It features a thin-walled, large-diameter, one-piece yellow brass bell (134.4mm in diameter), resulting in a sound that combines responsiveness and power.


French bead (bell rim)
The bell rim features a French bead, which increases feedback to the player.

*French bead = In contrast to the common method of inserting a perfectly round bead and curling it, this is a highly advanced method of inserting a semi-circular bead and curling it according to its shape.


- Side seams are used in the areas where vibrations are dampened by side seam supports and mounting plates, resulting in a more open vibration response.

*Side seam = In contrast to the common method where the seam is on the underside of the bell, the side seam method places the seam on the side (valve casing side).


• New design mouthpiece
The mouthpiece has also been redesigned to better match the YTR-8330EM. Its larger size and weight compared to previous models not only make the high register clearer and easier to aim, but also improve tone richness and playing freedom across all registers.

The new models will have "MK2" (Mark II) added to the end of the model number and markings. The TR-EM2-MK2, sold separately, has a slightly larger inner rim diameter than the TR-EM1-MK2, making it suitable for those who find the TR-EM1-MK2 too small, although the external design is the same for both models.


• Included case TRC-8340EM
This backpack-style semi-soft case was developed as an accessory case for the EM model. It's a double case that can accommodate the YTR-8330EM itself, as well as a flugelhorn or other trumpet. It features numerous pockets for storage and includes an original mouthpiece pouch.


*This instrument is a store display and trial item, so there are minor scratches such as polishing marks and a small dent on the third piston casing, but it can be used without any problems during play.
Furthermore, it comes with accessories such as a case and mouthpiece, just like a brand new product.
