Description

In 1994, TAMA developed Starclassic Maple with the aim of "achieving superior shell resonance without hindering the drum's inherent sound." At the time, its extremely thin yet highly rigid shell was revolutionary, characterized by a bright, clear sound and rich resonance.
More than 20 years have passed since its debut, and while various specifications have been changed to meet the needs of the times, this is a series that TAMA is committed to, and it is still consistently produced in its own factory in Japan.
This all-around drum combines a sensitive response and bright, open sound characteristics produced by an ultra-thin maple shell of approximately 5mm, with a clear attack thanks to its highly rigid die-cast hoops.

●Shell (5mm 6ply Maple)
An ultra-thin maple shell boasts sensitive response and rich resonance. The bright, clear sound is unique to maple.

●Minimum Shell Contact
The markings are not metal badges, but rather transfer emblems that are painted into the shell's finish. Furthermore, it features a minimalist design with small lugs and maple wood air hole caps to minimize stress on the vibrating shell.

●Die-Cast Hoops
The highly rigid zinc die-cast hoop maintains a perfectly perpendicular contact surface between the head and the hoop, allowing for sensitive tuning. The clear, powerful sound with a distinct fundamental tone is also a major attraction.

●Linear-Drive Strainer
This strainer successfully minimizes the contact noise caused by the snare wires hitting the bottom head, even when the lever is moved quickly. It employs a structure that ensures the snare wires are securely in contact with the head without putting unnecessary strain on the shell or strainer.

● Detachable Butt Plate
TAMA's original mechanism allows you to remove the snare side head from the shell while maintaining the tension of the snare cord by unscrewing the two bolts on the strainer butt. This makes it easier to replace the snare side head.

●Hold Tight Washer
The combination of stainless steel washers and rubber rings completely prevents tuning from loosening during performance. The elasticity of the rubber rings absorbs the impact of shots, ensuring that the hoop and tension bolts are always in close contact, preventing tuning deviations caused by shell vibration.

Many products are stocked across Ikebe stores in Japan. As a result, shipment may take several days. In-store sales may also cause items to sell out. If an item is unavailable, we will contact you promptly; in that case, the order will be canceled and any payment will be refunded.

■ Shipping

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the delivery address and confirmed at the time of dispatch.
