Description
Another standard, the Martin D-18, underwent further evolution in 2025.

The D-18, along with the D-28, is one of the flagship models of the Martin Guitars brand.
The guitar features a large body called a dreadnought, named after the British battleships that were considered the most powerful at the time, and is constructed with a spruce top and mahogany sides and back.
In contrast to the deep bass and sparkling tone characteristic of the rosewood sides and back of the D-28, the D-18 boasts a crisp, light nuance, warm midrange, and a powerful, forward-projecting sound thanks to its large body and mahogany construction. While it may lack flashiness, the D-18 offers a simple yet deeply expressive nuance that is uniquely appealing, making it a truly captivating model.
Like the D-28, this model can also be called a classic, having been favored by numerous legendary musicians and providing them with much inspiration.

-Evolution of the 2025 Model-
In 2025, the D-18 evolved even further. By incorporating the construction found in vintage D-18s, it achieved a richer sound and sustain. While inheriting the traditional sound of the D-18, which was also favored by Elvis Presley and Paul Simon, it was reborn as a more refined guitar that meets the needs of modern players and the music scene.

The most significant improvements are the changes to the bracing, which is crucial to the tone of an acoustic guitar, and the changes to the neck shape, which directly impacts playability.
The bracing style has been changed to the Golden Era shape GE-Scalloped X, which is used in the popular Modern Deluxe series. This results in a fuller, more breathable tone and longer sustain.
The neck shape has been changed to the GE Modified Low Oval, which is based on the highly regarded Low Oval shape but adds a vintage-like feel while minimizing the increase in mass. Furthermore, the fingerboard features a thin, smoothly beveled Comfort Edge, and the string spacing at the nut has also been improved, further enhancing playability.

The key difference is that, unlike the Authentic Series which pursues vintage specifications, this model has been improved as a modern, easy-to-use standard. Rather than simply returning to vintage designs, it pursues "easy-to-use, good sound" for the modern music scene, resulting in a significant improvement in both sound and playability.

Items with “USED” in the product name are pre-owned and will be delivered as shown in the photos. Signs of wear may be present. All items are function-tested by our staff and rechecked before dispatch.

Many products are stocked across Ikebe stores in Japan. As a result, shipment may take several days. In-store sales may also cause items to sell out. If an item is unavailable, we will contact you promptly; in that case, the order will be canceled and any payment will be refunded.

■ Shipping

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the delivery address and confirmed at the time of dispatch.
