This guitar evokes the iconic instrument of the legendary original guitarist of a world-famous band who sadly passed away in October 2025! This 1968 Les Paul Custom in cherry sunburst color, equipped with three double cream bobbin DiMarzio pickups, is a rare and recommended used item that has just arrived! It was made in 2003.

In October 2025, the tragic news broke of the passing of the original guitarist of a legendary, superstar rock band.
We've received a rare used item that's reminiscent of that guitarist's favorite instrument!

Based on a 1968 Les Paul Custom, this rare custom-ordered guitar features a Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish with a plain maple top, mahogany back, one-piece mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard. It's equipped with three DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups with double cream bobbins! Manufactured in 2003, it's likely a custom-ordered instrument from Yamano Music, the distributor at the time.

While limited editions of this guitar were produced as a signature model for the artist around 1997 and 2011, this particular instrument is a custom order based on a 1968 Les Paul Custom. Therefore, unlike the artist's 1974 model, the body is not a triple-layered mahogany/maple/mahogany pancake body, but rather a plain maple top with a mahogany back. The neck is also not a three-piece mahogany neck with a volute, but a one-piece mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard. The Grover tuners also have nickel buttons instead of acrylic. The neck shape is quite thick and has a substantial feel. You can enjoy the rich resonance and tone that comes from a thick neck shape.

The guitar features three DiMarzio pickups with double cream bobbins, reminiscent of that particular model. However, instead of a combination of two DiMarzio PAFs (front and center) and one DiMarzio Super Distortion (rear), it has three DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups.
The original model has wiring only for the rear pickup, but this one has wiring for the front pickup, center pickup + rear pickup, and rear pickup. The control knobs are gold speed knobs. (No smoke comes out of the pickup area.)

Currently, due to copyright issues, it's difficult to order a model with a look similar to a musician's, but back in 2003, it was probably still somewhat acceptable.
The model name listed on the included certificate is "'68 Custom-P," while the Yamano Music warranty states "68 LP PL 3PU HS." The Yamano Music warranty indicates that this unit was sold as a Second Class item, meaning that the warranty does not cover imperfections such as paint finish, fading, or scratches on the exterior. There are currently no issues affecting playability.

We've just received a highly recommended rare used item! It's a 2003 model.
There are some minor scratches and dents, small paint imperfections from the original construction, scuffs on the back of the body, a dent on the tip of the headstock, and some tarnishing on the parts, but overall it is in fairly good condition.
This guitar has undergone a full maintenance at our shop, so it's ready to use right away.

The frets have been leveled and it's ready to use. Approximately 85% of the fret life remains.
The nuts are in good working order and function normally. The truss rods also function correctly for normal adjustments.

The electrical system has also been fully checked, so there are no problems with its operation.

The weight is approximately 4.64 kg. While it's on the heavier side, the balance is such that it produces a solid, focused sound.
