FAQ

Description

The Mustang, which debuted in 1964 and remains incredibly popular today, was a student model, but thanks to its wood materials and parts that rival those of the regular model, it gained popularity as a guitar that allowed players to easily enjoy Fender tone.

This latest arrival was shipped around 1967. It features a popular combination of a red body and rosewood fingerboard.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.4 kg. The original pop red color, which has been the model's color since its inception, is a nice touch. There is weather checking appropriate for the model's age, paint chipping around the elbows and the outer periphery of the body, dents, and slight dullness on the metal parts, but the guitar is in relatively good condition. The armbar has been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. It features a 24-inch scale length, shorter than a Stratocaster. The "OFFSET Contour Body" decal is from a period before it was even attached. There is weather checking on the headstock, dents and signs of use, especially around the back of the 12th fret, and some tarnish on the metal parts, but like the body, it is in relatively good condition. The tuner knob for the first string is slightly bent, but the winding is fairly even and functions well. We replaced the nut and adjusted the frets at our shop, so playability is excellent. The headstock is 16.0mm thick. The nut width is 40.4mm. It features a relatively sturdy neck shape with just the right amount of thickness.

[Electrical system]
The Mustang's familiar controls include a master volume, master tone, and pickup selector switches. The pickup selector allows you to create a mixed sound between in-phase and out-of-phase. The pickups are special gray bobbins, featuring original dating. The small scale, coupled with the soft tension, produces a crisp, light attack and a slightly sweet midrange. The front pickup produces a rounded, warm tone, while the rear pickup produces a bright, edgy sound. Mixing the two in-phase creates a sparkling sound perfect for crisp cutting, while the out-of-phase pickup produces a unique, slim, funky texture with a reduced midrange. It's appealing not only for clean sounds, but also for its pleasant texture when lightly driven.
