Description
Description
Roger Sadowsky's goal was to further improve an already very successful bass design by implementing many detailed improvements. Together with the active circuit he developed himself, he succeeded in taking the J/J bass sound to a new level. All the characteristics of this bass sound - the typical Sadowsky tone with its clear, open bass, modern but not overly aggressive midrange and clear treble - are carried over to the MetroLine series, manufactured exclusively in Germany.
It meets all the requirements for modern bass playing, including a sophisticated deep-cut cutaway for enhanced playability, 24 frets, a soap bar positioned modernly near the bridge, true bypass, active electronics with vintage tone control, treble and bass boost, ultra-lightweight Sadowsky tuners, and a Sadowsky-specific bridge for quick string release.
After receiving worldwide acclaim for its domestically produced models, the transition to models made at the Warwick factory in Germany became a much talked-about trend. While retaining most of the basic concepts and specifications, the new models utilize Warwick's strength of "vast wood stock" and hand-selected materials, and feature chambered bodies, a feature not found in regular Japanese-made models, resulting in lightweight bodies of approximately 4kg or less for all models.
This 2025 limited-edition model features a premium koa body top, carefully selected from a vast stockpile of stock, a lightweight, sharp-sounding swamp ash back, and a roasted maple neck. The sleek Sadowsky look, reminiscent of the NYC model, along with the all-black hardware, exudes a distinctive limited-edition feel. The 24-fret design offers a wide range of range, while the soapbar pickups deliver a rich, refined tone. The active EQ delivers a powerful, attacking sound with astonishing response, creating a truly Sadowsky sound with both presence and clarity. Above all, the exquisite grain-filled top is a rare find, making this a gorgeous and unique limited edition model possible only at Warwick, where rare woods are sourced by the log.
This extremely rare guitar is limited to just 135 pieces worldwide, including both the 4-string and 5-string versions. This limited edition model was only possible because of Sadowsky, which continues to take new steps forward. Be sure to give it a try.
*Although the model name is listed as 2025, it will not be available in Japan until 2026.
