Description
Description
We have a pre-owned 2008 CS Jazz Bass with a striking relic finish. Its motif is the 1964 model. In addition to the classic alder body and rosewood fingerboard, the instrument also boasts a round laminate fingerboard, a three-color sunburst finish with a distinct yellow center, and the removal of the ground wire that ran along the top of the body from under the bridge to the rear pickup, all of which reflect the vision of today's Fenders.
The alder body features a center 2-piece design, a 7.25-inch fingerboard radius, and a quarter-sawn maple neck, all of which are characteristic of Fender. One touch and you'll hear a rich vibration that clearly conveys the instrument's well-worn nature and the use of premium tonewoods, along with a cohesive tone across the register. These characteristics also give the impression of further enhancing the crisp, punchy tone characteristic of a round fingerboard. The previous owner also shared a story about this instrument: when former master builder Mark Kendrick visited Japan, he autographed the back of the headstock and the included hard case.
Although originally a relic, there are signs of wear and tear, such as paint peeling on the back of the body, buckle marks, and a missing headstock logo, but these do not detract from the overall appearance, and both the sound and appearance appear to have been lovingly nurtured by the previous owner. The pickguard also has a slight lift due to shrinkage, but this does not interfere with playability. Of course, there are no operational issues, such as remaining truss rod or frets, so this is a guitar that will continue to produce a powerful sound for years to come. Don't miss out on this high-quality used JB with classic specs and a ready-to-play feel.
