Description
Description
This is the SA-50 from the SA series, the brand's first hollowbody electric guitar, which was released around 1967. Based on the serial number and other information, it appears to have been manufactured around 1972.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.5 kg. It has a thin body and a semi-acoustic shape, but it's a hollow body construction without a center block. The body color is a see-through cherry red, with subtle curly maple grain. While there are scratches and dents throughout, as well as small paint chips scattered throughout and tarnish on the metal parts, it shows signs of age-appropriate use, but is in relatively good condition.
【neck】
Like the body, the neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is rosewood. The tuners retain their original covers, and all the covers, which tend to be missing, are included. While there is some inconsistency and play in the winding, they function properly. The frets and nut are showing signs of wear, with noticeable dents on the lower frets, but there is currently no significant buzzing or clogging. The nut width is approximately 42.4mm. The neck features a massive shape that gradually thickens towards the end.
[Electrical system]
The controls are 1 volume, 1 tone, pickup balancer, and a 3-way pickup selector switch. All of the control knobs, including the top plate, remain intact, which is a nice touch. The output jack has been replaced with a Switchcraft one, and the jack plate hole has been slightly enlarged.
