FAQ

Description

Production of the ES-295, which began in 1952 alongside the Les Paul Model, featured a 16-1/4-inch full-acoustic body similar to Gibson's signature archtop model, the ES-175. It featured an all-gold finish, gold hardware, double parallelogram position marks, and a flower-pattern pickguard, all of which were characteristic of Gibson's opulent designs of the time. Production ceased as early as the latter half of 1958, and subsequent reproduction was not until the 1990s. As a result, there are very few original '50s models in circulation, making them extremely rare and difficult to find on the market today.

Based on the serial number and specifications, this guitar was determined to have been shipped around 1954. It has been converted to a humbucking pickup and refinished in a deep Pelham Blue color. While not in original condition, this guitar exudes the high-quality fundamental strength you'd expect from a 1950s Gibson guitar, crafted from high-quality materials.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 2.9 kg. The body is Gibson's traditional laminate maple full-acoustic construction, combining lightness with a core-like resonance. The body color has been refinished in a deep Pelham Blue. The pickups have been converted from the original P-90 single-coil configuration to humbucking pickups reminiscent of the PAF era, and the trapeze tailpiece has been converted to a Tune-O-Matic and Bigsby B-6 unit.
We have reinforced the body under the bridge with a sound post to ensure structural stability. While the metal parts show signs of aging, the overall condition is excellent thanks to the refinish. The pickguard and control knobs have been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of mahogany, and the fingerboard is made of rosewood, which has a texture reminiscent of the original. The headtop and back of the neck have been refinished in the same Pelham Blue color as the body, and the guitar is in excellent condition. The tuners have been replaced with the same type of Kluson Deluxe. The nut has also been replaced and the frets filed, resulting in excellent playability. The nut width is 43.0mm. This is a relatively slim neck shape at its current state.

[Electrical system]
The controls are a traditional Gibson layout: 3-way pickup selector, 2 volumes, and 2 tones. The pickups have been replaced from the original P-90s with Gibson Custom Buckers. All consumable parts, such as the pots, capacitors, and output jack, have also been replaced.
The airy sound of a full-acoustic guitar is complemented by the gloss and smoothness of Gibson humbuckers, resulting in a rich harmonic response and a tone that is both delicate and warm, resonating comfortably. This guitar is a truly appealing instrument that emphasizes practicality and sound quality while making use of vintage materials.
