★The channel strips for SSL SuperAnalogue 9000 series consoles are back.

The Super 9000 is Solid State Logic's all-in-one analog channel strip. Featuring SuperAnalogue preamps, VHD circuitry, 9000 Series Dynamics, and a 4-band EQ with selectable G-Series/E-Series curves, the Super 9000 channel strip condenses the ultra-low distortion and breathtaking clarity of SSL's SuperAnalogue studio consoles into a single 1RU unit.

The 9000 series consoles made rock and pop mixes sound bigger than ever before, while delivering deep bass and sparkling treble to hip hop and R&B. Renowned for its unparalleled dynamics and depth, the 9000 series expressed music with an overwhelming sense of scale, becoming the standard at the time, setting groundbreaking achievements in analog circuit design, and paving the way for the development of the latest SSL consoles such as Duality and Oracle. Now, the Super 9000 brings that professional sophistication, once only found in the massive 9000 series consoles, to your studio.

Top studios such as Abbey Road, Metropolis Studios (London), Real World Studios (Bath), Record Plant (LA), and Avatar/Power Station (NY) adopted the 9000 series console. Top engineers like Manny Marokin (Alicia Keys, Rihanna), Michael Brauer (Coldplay, John Mayer), Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin), and Tony Maserati (Jay-Z, Beyoncé) used the SuperAnalogue sound to create numerous hit songs.

●SSL SuperAnalogue Design
SuperAnalogue technology designs the signal path to be extremely transparent and wideband, eliminating any signal loss whatsoever.
Key design element of SuperAnalogue™ technology: ultra-wide audio bandwidth.
• Extremely flat frequency response: ±0.1dB from 20Hz to 20kHz.
• Ultra-low transient intermodulation distortion.
- No electrolytic capacitors are used in the audio path.
• Extremely low noise and harmonic distortion.
- Extremely low phase shift across the entire audible frequency range.

The result is unparalleled power, clarity, and an overwhelming soundstage. These are the defining characteristics of the modern "SSL sound," and why SuperAnalogue consoles remain the professional choice for music production.

● Dual microphone amplifier SuperAnalogue or VHD
Like SSL's flagship console, the Duality, the Super9000 offers a choice of two world-class preamps: the high-headroom SuperAnalogue preamps for unparalleled transparency, or the Variable Harmonics Drive (VHD) for adding character and saturation. Adjust the second harmonics for rich, tube-like warmth, or the third harmonics for a sharper, transistor-like edge, shaping your tone. The INPUT FLIP button allows you to move the VHD circuit from the microphone input to the line input, easily adding color to DAW stems and line-level instruments/sound sources.

● Variable Harmonics Drive (VHD)
The Variable Harmonics Drive (VHD) was developed to provide engineers and producers with a single preamp that could cover a wide tonal spectrum. Originally designed to complement the clean, transparent SuperAnalogue preamps found in Duality consoles, VHD has been adopted in numerous SSL consoles and rackmount units and has been a secret weapon for many engineers to add color to their sound over the years.

● Full dynamics processing
The Super 9000 embodies the essence of SSL's modern dynamics section, delivering ultimate control and punch. At its core, the compressor features a high-performance THAT 2181A VCA, a switchable Fast Attack mode, and a peak detection option—features first introduced in the SL 9000 console and carried over to the Duality series. Furthermore, it incorporates SSL's classic expander/gate section, with variable hysteresis integrated into the threshold, precise gate control, and hold control for downward expansion management. In addition, the Super 9000 allows the dynamics section to be moved either before (Pre) or after (Post) the EQ.

● Pink (292) and Black (242) EQ circuits & high-pass/low-pass filters
The Super9000 offers a choice between two EQ circuits: the 292 G series "pink knob" EQ circuit or the 242 E series "black knob" EQ circuit. The 292's variable Q design provides smooth, wide-ranging boost and cut, while its shelf features a steeper slope and "undershoot/overshoot" for a more musical sound.
The 242's Q design was developed in collaboration with Sir George Martin, offering more precise control compared to the 292. The Super 9000 EQ section also features two buttons: "E Bell/G÷3" and "Gx3/E Bell." In 292 mode, these buttons allow you to divide the low-mid frequencies by 3 and multiply the mid-high frequencies by 3, enabling you to use the midband to target frequencies far beyond its standard range, resulting in incredible flexibility and range. In 242 mode, these buttons switch the low and high frequencies between bell and shelving modes. True to SSL style, the EQ can be placed in the dynamics sidechain, and the high-pass (18dB/oct) and low-pass (12dB/oct) filters can be fully bypassed or routed to the input/sidechain for ultimate control.

● Flexible processing and routing
The Super 9000 features balanced insert points for integrating external equipment into the signal path. The insert position can be moved from the default (immediately after the input stage) to the output stage (immediately before the output trim). In addition to a dedicated external sidechain (key) input, it also features a sidechain link function, making it ideal for use as a stereo pair with two Super 9000 units.
The input flip control routes the LINE input to the microphone preamp while simultaneously switching the rear MIC connection to the LINE path. This provides a simple way to process the line-level return from the DAW without manually repatching it, while simultaneously applying saturation/distortion during the mixing stage.
