Description

A popular killer with an innovative design and player-oriented specifications.
The Nature model by Akira Takasaki with its striking burner finish is now in stock!

The KG-PRIME is a modified guitar that Japan is proud of, made for Akira Takasaki of LOUDNESS and has been in production for 30 years since it was first released to the market in 1988.
The guitar has been carefully crafted with many aspects in mind, including a sophisticated and unique body shape, a neck joint that is inserted deeper than the front pickup and has a 3-degree angle, and a VU-shaped neck that provides ideal grip in both low and high positions.

The body material has been changed from white ash to light ash, which emphasizes the midrange sound characteristic of ash. The color has also been changed, and although it is the same as hickory brown up until the grain is burned with a burner, it is now finished in a more natural amber color than hickory brown.

The neck features a flame maple fingerboard and a grip that combines Takasaki's signature (with an E-mark sticker) with the Blue Flame neck grip, the same as the KG-PRIME Birth Axe 222. Of course, the neck itself is made of durable hard maple, and the grip is finished in semi-gloss lacquer. It also features updated details like a wheel rod and luminous side position marks.

The pickups are Seymour Duncan SH-2n and TB-14. This combination offers higher output than Takasaki's signature pickup, the THUNDER IN THE EAST, which was based on a Gibson humbucker, and is key to creating the modern Takasaki sound that can also be used in low tunings. The volume control also eliminates the coil tap function and incorporates a high-pass capacitor.

The condition of this guitar is somewhat minor, with minor dents and scratches, some dull parts, a dent on the tip of the headstock, and a paint crack at the neck joint. The frets are still at about 70% of their original height, and there are no issues with the neck or electrical system, making this a guitar you can continue to use. This is an item we don't often receive, so please forgive us if it sells out.
