The ever-evolving Paul Reed Smith 2024 model!
While undergoing repeated minor changes, the Custom 24 has remained a core model in the PRS lineup since the company's founding in 1985. Its refined sound and playability have made it a favorite of many artists. Around 2020, the top coat after body coloring was a gloss lacquer, but this was later changed to an all-lacquer finish. Further upgrades are still being made.
This 2024 model features updated tuning pegs, which are used on many Core models, for improved sound. The new wing buttons, designed with a bird inlay motif at the 12th fret, are lighter than the previous metal tuning peg buttons and reduce string vibration loss, producing longer sustain and a more musical sound.
The bridge is the Gen3 Tremolo, which was adopted as a regular model starting with the 2017 model. The PRS Tremolo has always had a reputation for tuning drift when using a string arm, but the Gen3 Tremolo features grooves cut into the bridge plate where the saddle set screws are installed, and the six saddles are installed very tightly, preventing the saddles from shifting sideways and minimizing tuning drift. Additionally, the bridge mounting screws have been enlarged, and the saddle height adjustment screws, saddle mounting screws, and the parts of the saddles that the strings come into contact with are left unplated, contributing to rich overtones and sustain.
The pickups are the 85/15, first used on the 30th Anniversary Model. These pickups, bearing the years 1985 (the year the guitar was founded) and 2015 (the 30th anniversary), are slightly different from the vintage-toned pickups like the 57/08 and 59/09. Developed with a modern classic character, they offer a rich sound with a wide range from high to low, as well as a punchy, moderate power.
The pickup output is lower than that of the HFS & Vintage Bass, so subtle picking nuances are reproduced more naturally, producing a clean to crunch sound with a pleasant edge, while still retaining the distinctive PRS midrange presence. This is a sound truly geared towards players. Even when heavily distorted with a high-gain amp, the edgy tone remains intact, allowing you to enjoy a superb sound that never gets lost.

The condition of this particular guitar is excellent, with only a few light scratches, playing marks, and a few small, grain-sized scratches that are difficult to see on camera. The frets are still as high as when they were new, and there are no issues with the neck, truss rod, or electronics! This is a guitar you can enjoy for years to come. Don't miss this opportunity!
