Description

A signature model has been released that embodies a request from bassist Hiroshi Takamatsu, who is active in The Novembers/Petit Brabancon!

The basic specifications follow the ESP standard, with an alder body, hard maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and 864mm scale length. The neck is bolted to the body. The joint is thick enough to keep the neck stable and produce a tight sound.

The tuning machines feature HIPSHOT clover keys and traditional open-gear machine heads. The 27:1 gear ratio allows for precise tuning. The bridge is a traditional type that maximizes the body's resonance. The pickups are Seymour Duncan, with an ANTIQUITY JB in the bridge position and an SPB-1 in the neck position. The controls provide volume and tone for each pickup, and the dual-axis, dual-position potentiometers allow for intuitive operation. The side positions are also equipped with Luminlay, a luminous material, and their large size ensures excellent visibility even on dark stages.

The body and head top are painted in semi-gloss black.

■ Comment from Hiroshi Takamatsu
----------------------------
This time, Edwards made my signature model, the E-HTB-01.

This instrument is positioned as the Edwards version of the ESP HTB-01, a low-cost version, but there aren't many differences in terms of specifications. It's a simple instrument to begin with, but I think the manufacturer's commitment to making a high-quality product without compromise is admirable. As mentioned above, the pickups and other major parts are the same. I think the biggest differences lie in the wood and manufacturing process. The other difference is the paint. However, I played the Edwards E-HTB-01 and found it to be a very good instrument. Yes, that's right. It's an incredible bargain. Of course, there may be significant individual differences. I hope you enjoy finding the one that's right for you, even with that in mind.

Actually, my first encounter with ESP was when I was using a modified Edwards BASS IV, which ESP found interesting and contacted me. So it's very moving to have Edwards release my model. After all, it's like they've thoroughly remade the bass I had modified back then.
