Mayones' new model, Ori Enji, inspired by origami, is now available!
With its sleek lines and sharp angles, ORI embodies the elegance of origami while pushing the boundaries of modern instrument design.
This first model in the Ori series is named after the Japanese pronunciation of wenge, "U-Enji," which is also the tonewood used in modern bass necks.
The ash body, 34-37 inch multi-scale wenge neck, wenge fingerboard, and durable stainless steel frets provide a clear tone and a fast response to picking. The neck also features graphite reinforcement and a double-action truss rod, ensuring high stability and easy setup, even for use in Japan.
Combining precision and artistry, inspired by the sharp yet elegant edge of a Japanese sword, the Kissaki bridge is crafted from the hardest aluminum, with 3D brass saddles and additional steel inserts under the strings for optimal sound transmission and durability.
The three pickups are Mayones' original Velvetrone GRIM pickups using neodymium magnets, and the combination of a 6-position rotary selector and Musashi Nit?ry™ allows for a wide range of sound making.
In addition, the unit's preamp can be switched between a 9V battery and a rechargeable battery, and it even has a headphone jack and AUX in, so you can easily practice at hotels during your tour without needing any other equipment.
While it has the moderate compression and thick, full-bodied midrange that are characteristic of Mayones, the taut low end provided by the 37-inch tension gives it a different character from the multi-scale types of Dingwall and Ibanez, so be sure to choose the one that suits your taste.
