Description
Description
"Most players looking for an acoustic bass prefer to play it 'plugged in' rather than unplugged, and use fingerpicking techniques such as two-finger playing. However, due to the structure of an electric acoustic bass, the distance between the top of the body and the strings tends to be wider than that of a solid-body bass, and because there is a sound hole, it is difficult to keep the thumb in a comfortable position, making playing difficult..." We discovered this issue through our own research and found the answer to expanding the sonic possibilities and making playing more enjoyable: the Ibanez AEGB: AEGB24E, an evolved model equipped with a thumb rest.
- Originally designed wooden thumb rest: The greatest feature of this model is the original wooden thumb rest (finger rest). The overall design is such that it does not disrupt the rounded acoustic bass feel and does not obscure the sound hole.
The finger rest area is stepped, with a line extending from the neck to the bridge, following the strings. Since players place their thumbs in different positions, the design is designed to accommodate as many different playing styles as possible. Simply by moving your thumb along the line of the thumb rest, you can easily enjoy changing the tone, from a tighter sound when playing closer to the bridge to a fuller sound when playing closer to the neck.
This rest is fixed to the body top only at three screw points, leaving the rest floating. This reduces the distance to the strings (compared to without a rest), making it easier to play and also helps prevent resonance.
- Sapele body, Ibanez AEG body shape. Sapele wood, similar to mahogany, has excellent mid-low range characteristics and is suitable for bass guitars. The body shape is compact, making it easy to hold and handle.
- Nyatoh wood/maple 3-piece neck, 32 (815mm) scale The neck has a 3-piece structure with maple wood sandwiched between Nyatoh wood, and its shape is slim and easy to grip.
It also features a medium scale that is easy to handle even for players picking up an acoustic bass for the first time.
-Ibanez X-Coated Strings (80/20 Bronze .040/.060/.075/.095)
These original Ibanez strings feature bronze wound strings with a black carbon coating. The carbon coating layer produces a rounded, full sound and also reduces finger noise when playing.
-Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp with easy-to-use tuner (powered by 006P batteries)
-Rosewood fingerboard and bridge
-Black hardware parts
