The latest 2024 updated "Duvell Elite 7" has arrived.
The Duvell Elite, which was released in 2014, has been announced to receive updated specifications in 2024.
The previous update in 2019 included major changes such as changes to the shape and number of bolts on the neck joint, but the 2024 update is based on the specifications from 2019, with changes such as a body-matching headstock, Mayones original pickup "Velvetrone", and standard position marks on the top of the fingerboard.
The "Duvell Elite" model features an "Eye Poplar" flat top, a mahogany body, a 5-piece neck made primarily of wenge and bubinga, a 4-point bolt-on neck joint, and a sharply angled, solid body shape.
The "Eye Poplar" top features a unique grain and is finished in a "Trans Blue" satin finish, creating an exquisite match between the grain of the top and the blue color.
The neck is a 5-ply laminated neck made primarily of wenge wood combined with purpleheart, allowing you to enjoy the heavy, hard, and sharp sound that only wenge can produce, as well as the quick picking response produced by the strong 5-ply neck.
The scale is 26.5 inches, which is longer than a typical long scale but shorter than the 27-28 inches used in baritone scales.This allows for the operability of a long scale while also providing the tension needed for 7 strings, making it easy to accommodate a wide range of settings with 7 strings and settings when the tuning is lowered.
The bridge is a through-the-back type, which makes it easier to increase string tension and is also suitable for low-action settings and drop tunings.
The pickups are Mayones' genuine "Velvetrone" series "Ironside" and "Solium" pickups, newly adopted as standard in 2024. The bridge pickup features the high-gain "Ironside" with its fast attack response that follows your picking, while the neck pickup features the well-balanced "Solium" that produces soulful leads and silky clean sounds. These two genuine pickups create a sound that is uniquely Mayones.
The control system also features a 5-way pickup selector, which has been adopted since the 2024 model, allowing you to switch between each pickup and coil tap.The wiring also incorporates a high-pass filter called ``Mayones Treble Bleed Mod'' that compensates for the high-frequency drop that occurs when the volume is turned down, making it a simple yet functional control.
The fret setting is done using PLEK, and the fret height, nut height, etc. are mechanically scanned and adjusted before shipping. Using PLEK allows for extremely precise fret setting, resulting in excellent note separation and a stable sound with a sense of chord and pitch.
